The Tigers added a big in-state recruit for the class of 2027 with Zyan Knollmeyer. Coming out of Helias High School in nearby Jefferson City, Knollmeyer is a two-time state finalist. He’s coming off an undefeated junior season where he was 40-0. He bonused his way through every tournament until the state finals.
Knollmeyer has a career record of 75-7 since winning the varsity spot his sophomore year. His sophomore season he was a state runner-up, losing to top 100 wrestling recruit and current Mizzou football commit Kyler Kuhn. This summer he won NHSCA’s to make a jump in the rankings. He’s currently #81 on the 2027 Big Board, #15 at heavyweight nationally, and the #6 overall recruit from Missouri.
He adds to Mizzou’s growing upperweight depth with St. Pius’ Sampson Stillwell having up to 4 years left depending on eligibility rules. There is also the potential for CBC’s Trey Craig eventually moving up to heavyweight after spending time in a college weight room. Knollmeyer is a high upside addition both on and off the mat as evidenced by an article taking a deeper look at his background.

2027 Recruits:
#72 Cason Craft (Coweta, OK)
#81 Zyan Knollmeyer (Helias Catholic, MO)
