Where to Watch: Flowrestilng; Finals on ESPN2
The Tigers are coming off the Tiger Style Invite and jump right into deep waters at National Duals with a first round matchup against top seeded Iowa. The Hawkeyes have a ranked wrestler at every weight and are favored in eight matches. They have a strong lineup along with some freshmen that could come in and get starts in here.
The schedule starts with Mizzou taking on Iowa at 9AM CT. Then if they win they’ll wrestle again at 5PM while a loss puts them at 3PM all on Saturday. On Sunday wrestling kicks off again at 10AM with placement duals at 12PM.
125lbs: #28 Mack Mauger (5-1) vs #10 Dean Peterson (1-0)
Peterson was a three-time qualifier and two-time bloodround finisher at NCAA’s while starting for Rutgers before transferring to Iowa this offseason. He’s beaten All-Americans throughout his career and has been looking for an opportunity to break through himself. He’s good in all three positions but doesn’t always look to blow up the scoreboard which has left him vulnerable at times in the past. With Iowa being big favorites I’m wondering if they use a freshman in redshirt in a dual like this as they have #7 overall Leo Deluca at this weight as well.
