The 2025 U.S. Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals in Fargo, ND, concluded this weekend and Team Missouri delivered. Our wrestlers brought home four national titles and more than two dozen All-American honors (top-8 finishes) across multiple divisions.
Our boys and girls battled on the biggest stage in high school wrestling, bringing home hardware, heart, goals reached, and new goals to chase.

Boys’ National Champions & Finalist Highlights
Colin Rutlin: 16U Freestyle National Champion at 150 lbs + Outstanding Wrestler
Rutlin tore through the bracket and teched Christian Garcia (California) in a 10-0 finals victory. Not only did he dominate his weight class, he was named Outstanding Wrestler of the entire 16U freestyle field. He finished the week as a 2x All-American: Freestyle Champion and Greco-Roman Runner-Up at 150 lbs.

David Gleason: Junior Freestyle National Champion at 157 lbs. Gleason proved he’s the real deal winning close matches and staying poised under pressure. In the finals match, he outpaced Wyatt Medlin (Illinois) for a 10-6 win to claim the Fargo title. He ends his high school career as a 2x State Champion and Fargo Junior National Champion at 157 lbs. He will continue his wrestling career as a Mizzou Tiger in the fall.

Wyatt Dannegger: 16U Greco-Roman National Champion at 100 lbs. Dannegger was a Greco machine, dominating his bracket table and winning an all-Missouri final against teammate Alexander Hall by tech fall. Every win came by tech fall or pin earning him the Greco title in the 16U division.

Will Scherer: Junior Greco-Roman National Champion at 165 lbs. Scherer shocked the bracket by upsetting #1 seed Sullivan Ramos (Wisconsin) in the semifinals with a 5-1 decision.
In the finals mat h, Scherer delivered one of the tournament’s best matches securing a 5-5 win by a head-and-arm throw in the final seconds against JayDen Williams (Michigan), which secured Missouri’s fourth championship title in Fargo.

Missouri Runner-Ups – Boys’ Division
Alexander Hall: 16U Greco-Roman Runner-Up at 100 lbs. Hall made his Fargo debut this past week, battling his way to the finals, including a nail biter 12-10 semifinal win. He fell to teammate Dannegger in the final’s match but showed incredible grit and composure throughout.
Colin Rutlin: 16U Greco-Roman Runner-Up at 150 lbs. Yes, again! Rutlin reached the finals in both Freestyle and Greco, proving he’s one of the most competitive wrestlers in the country. His Greco final ended in a narrow 4-2 decision.

- Carter Wallis – 3rd at 120lbs
- Jet Brown – 6th (Also 7th in Freestyle – Dual All-American) at 144lbs
- Mason Brayfield – 6th at 113lbs
Junior Freestyle
- Jet Brown – 7th at 144 lbs
Jet doubled up this week, earning 2x Fargo All-American honors. He capped his run with a gritty 6-4 win in the 7th-place match in Freestyle.
16U Greco
- Kale Davis – 5th at 157 lbs

Missouri’s girls made a major statement, earning 14 All-American honors, a finalist, and podium finishes across multiple weights.
Zoey Haney: Junior Runner-Up (95 lbs)
Haney had a breakout tournament, recording three techs and a pin on her path to the finals. She narrowly dropped the championship bout 8-4 to Natalie Radecki (Delaware), finishing as Missouri’s top girls’ placers in Fargo.
