The post-season is quickly approaching for the Westminster Blue Jays and several of them are starting to peak at the right time.
Overall the Blue Jays would go 16-10 on the weekend in Marshall, MO. Out of those 16 wins, 8 of them were by pin or tech-fall. They would have two of the wrestlers reach the podium in convincing fashion. Sophomores Austen Wetzel and Cole Harrell (184 lbs. and 197 lbs. respectively) only suffered a single loss each during the tournament. Wetzel would win three straight matches to earn a spot in the tournament finals before falling 13-4 and a second place finish. This finish earned him SLIAC wrestler of the week.
Cole Harrell was equally impressive, only his loss came one round prior to Wetzels (the semis). Harrell, who recently came back from a minor injury, rebounded well and won his final two matches of the day to finish in 3rd place. Three of his wins on the day were by tech-fall or pin.
