#23 Mizzou over Arizona State (21-15)
The Tigers got their second consecutive conference win, splitting matches but getting bonus points to make the difference. Fans saw the return of Cam Steed and Seth Nitzel while Kade Moore made a resurgence with a ranked bonus point win. Even in the losses the Tigers battled, with Walker and Nitzel going to the wire with top five opponents. The team isn’t close to healthy, still missing Keegan O’Toole and Colton Hawks. However this was a step forward and shows that this team can score wins and upsets with their depth wrestlers.
125lbs: #2 Richie Figueroa Dec. #32 Gage Walker (5-4)
This match came down to the wire and was a tactic heavy match that went the veterans way. Figueroa scored an early takedown in the first and a reversal in the second that proved the difference. Walker had a difficult time getting through his three point stance, as Figueroa is explosive from there. He made things interesting late with some stall calls, but Figueroa wrestled smart and knew when to shoot in and chew clock. This is now Walker’s third top ten loss by just a point, and he has only improved after each one.
