When naming some of the top Class 4 teams in the Kansas City area, teams like Liberty, Staley, Park Hill and Blue Springs are among the teams that could come to mind among high school wrestling fans.
Park Hill South could be a team that could join that conversation in 2021-22.
The Panthers look dominant in their tri dual against Raytown and St. Joseph Central as they defeated the Blue Jays 77-6 and the Indians 75-6. Raytown defeated Central 36-24 to get second place.
“I think this is the most experience Park Hill South has had in a while, which is great to say,” South senior Lucas Oitker said. “I think we can hang with anyone.
Oitker (220) has been a huge addition to the Panthers as he transferred to South from Oak Park. Last season, the senior was one win away from winning a state medal. He was dominant against Central’s Nicholas Haddock and Raytown’s Beau Flickner.
