Some accomplishments of your team and wrestlers
We have won the Big 8 girls conference for 3 years in a row and brought home our first-ever district plaque last season as Runners Up to Lebanon. The bar has now been set and we know the expectations. We set high goals for our program and try to find inspiration in the things we have accomplished. However, we focus more on the process of what it takes to reach our current goals than we do past successes.

Wrestlers –
107: Josselynn Yates (12th) Returning starter that was 17-19 last year in her first year of wrestling, and took 2nd in the Big 8 conference at 107. We expect her to turn the corner in year 2 of wrestling and do big things.

117: Alyx Keifert– (9th) Alyx wrestled for our middle school program and had a successful season last year in 8th grade. She has had a spectacular cross country season this fall and we expect that success to continue to wrestling.

122: Emily Croy (10th) 6-23 – Emily is one of those team players that you can always count on. She is a hard worker that never gives up and always does what is asked of her. We believe the fact that she is coachable and determined will begin to pay off for her this year and she will be a consistent contributor to our varsity lineup.

127: Alissa Hughey (12th) was 26-4 for the 2019-2020 season but didn’t wrestle last year. She is a senior returning to wrestling this year and we expect her to be a key part of our team. Alissa spent her summer in basic training for the Army and we anticipate that training will help her both mentally and physically this season. She was a top seed in districts in the 2019/2020 season but got injured during the district tournament. We expect her to come right in and be a leader on our team.

132: Carlee Cardoza 16-14 – Carlee is a sophomore that returns with a couple of years of experience. She was in and out of our starting lineup last season but has put in some off-season work and is a hard worker. We expect Carlee to have a breakout year.

137: We have a few quality girls around 137 to 143. We will see how it works itself out.
Macie James (11th) 27 – 15, Macie is a returning state qualifier that has big goals set for her this season. Last year was her first full season of wrestling and she improved with every match. She has put in some good off-season work that we expect to pay some big dividends for us this season.

Camryn Elliott 10th 11-10 – Camryn is a returning starter for us that is a great softball player and a great person. She will be battling back from an injury but we expect her to work hard to get back to 100 percent and be a big contributor to our success this season.

151: Isabella Whitlock (10th) – Unfortunately, Izzy got hurt after the first competition of the year last season so we don’t really know her full potential. She is back to 100 percent this season and should fit nicely into our lineup. She has a couple of years of middle school experience and we expect her to get right back after it on the mat this season.

Aleeya Wilson (9th) – Aleeya is an incoming freshman that has middle school and USA wrestling experience. She attended the NEO camp with us this summer and had some success against other high school wrestlers. We expect her to fit somewhere within our lineup this year and have a successful freshman season.

159: Trinity Lesser (10th) 25-10 Trinity is one of our other returning state qualifiers that has been wrestling this off-season. With a year of high school wrestling under her belt, we believe she is set for a spectacular sophomore season. She is a very talented wrestler that we expect big things out of this season.

174: Kianna Massie (12th) 35-7 – Kianna took 4th last year in the state in her first year of wrestling. She is a three-sport athlete (softball, wrestling, track) and an all-state athlete in both wrestling and track. She has fallen in love with the sport and has set high goals for herself. With her work ethic and athleticism, we expect her to go above and beyond those goals this season.

195: Megan Petty (12th) 10-5 – Megan has been behind two now collegiate wrestlers, Leanna Merrell and Kylie Martin for the last few years at the upper weights. However, she is an extremely gifted wrestler that will slide write into our lineup and fill those shoes. We expect her to be a leader on the team and achieve great things this season.
General thoughts on your program and team
We went to the NEO wrestling camp for the first time as a girl’s team this summer. We had a handful of girls attend and do well. They got to wrestle several live matches against girls that they don’t usually see from Arkansas, Oklahoma, etc… The camp was effective by providing not just some good wrestling techniques and experience but also some team bonding experiences and getting to know each other.

We expect to have a great season. We are going to focus on what it takes day in and day out to get better so that we can achieve our goals. If we can stay focused on the process then we believe the outcome will work itself out.
