For Cristian Dixon, the goals start and end with winning the final match of the season for the first time in his career. The Benton senior is a three-time medalist in the Class 2 Missouri State Wrestling Championships and a two-time finalist. Yet, he finished fourth as a freshman at 113 and has lost one-point decisions in championship matches each of the past two seasons.

Dixon can become the first three-time finalist to wrestle for coach Brad Hubbard, who has led Nick Taul (Benton) and Aaron Bridgeman (Maysville) to two state titles during his accomplished career.

“(Dixon) needs to continue being the leader and keep his focus on controlling all scoring situations,” Hubbard said. “Attitude and effort go a long way in this sport.”
