St. James brings back entire roster, looking for state success in Class 2

The assessment for fifth-year coach Beau Moreland is simple: the whole team is back, including two Class 2 Missouri State Wrestling Championships qualifiers and another returning from injury, along with several talented underclassmen additions.

St. James wants to make sure last year’s shutout at the state tournament is just a blip.

Frank Parsons (120 pounds) and Zach Achterberg (152 pounds) — both juniors — were St. James’s lone state qualifiers a year ago but both went 0-2. Achterberg was a finalist in Class 2 District 1, while Parsons was third place to help the Tigers finish in a tie for ninth in the team standings out of 13 teams.

Additionally, junior Elijah Wilcox was one win away from a state berth at 126
