Liberty’s 2x Class 4 State Finalist Logan Rathjen started off his offseason competition with a 4th place finish. Only losing twice, to the 1st place and 3rd place finisher I might add, had to run a gauntlet of tough opponents in his impressive run.

His first match was a tight 3-2 Decision over an Iowa State Champion. In the Round of 16 he advanced again in a close 3-2 match over a tough opponent from Louisiana. The quarters is where Rathjen really opened up against another stingy wrestler from Nevada winning 8-4. Rathjen then fell to the eventual champ and 2x State Placer from Illinois 5-2.

In his next match on the backside just to make his 3rd/4th place match Rathjen had to beat a Illinois State Champ which he did in another 3-2 bout. Finally placing 4th falling 1-0 to a 2x Montana State Champ. Rathjen is only a Junior for Liberty and is clearly looking to make a big jump this offseason.
