Day 1 of the 2026 Missouri USA Freestyle and Greco State Tournament is in the books. More than 1,300 wrestlers competed Saturday at Wilson Logistics Arena in Springfield across boys freestyle and girls Greco divisions, ranging from 8U through Junior age groups.
On the girls side, four clubs tied for the most gold medals in Greco competition — Greater Heights Wrestling, MO West Championship Wrestling Club, Palmyra Youth Wrestling Club, and Nixa High School Wrestling each crowned four champions. MO West led all programs with 11 total placers on the day.
Several familiar names from the high school season made their mark. Sydney Stifter claimed the Junior Greco 115 title, Natalie Edmisson won at Junior 145, Zolah Williams took the 16U 110 crown, and Temprence Watson captured the 16U 170 title. Farynn Rhees, a national team member out of Greater Heights, won the 16U 105 bracket.
On the boys side, Greater Heights Wrestling and Team Missouri Select were among the top performers across age groups. Hickman’s Luke Hayden earned his third freestyle state championship with a win at Junior 175.
