Fairly, call it a down year for Timberland in 2018. Yes, the Wolves qualified four for the Class 4 Missouri State Wrestling Championships and placed 19th, but their aim will always be higher.
Just four years removed from a top-four finish and three years removed from a top-five showing, Timberland hopes a strong group of seniors can lead a resurgence into the state’s elite. The Wolves went 5-3 in duals a year ago and had a successful tournament season but came away with limited results in the postseason — at least by lofty standards.
“This will be a fun group of kids to coach, and when it's all said and done, we will surprise some folks on how good we are,” Timberland coach Jeff Renz said.
