Result: Michael McGee Dec #17 Barlow McGhee 2-1 TB1
(ODU 3-0)

Pros: Barlow was made a couple nice attempts and nearly scored. Barlow also had some really nice defense throughout the course of the bout. McGhee gave good effort.

Cons: This was a match that it would have been nice for McGhee to have for potential MAC and NCAA seeding. Barlow really needs to string together shots on offense, as just taking one shot and then stopping in a tie is not helping him right now. He really needs to pull the trigger more, as I believe he was the better wrestler here. He just didn’t give himself enough chances to win. Hopefully McGhee can turn things around his next time out.

Result: #8 John Erneste Dec Caleb Richardson 4-0
(TIE 3-3)

Pros: Erneste was very aggressive from his ties and scored, because he caught Richardson leaning back here. Erneste really dominated from top in this match. His motion was good on his feet and he had the better of the scoring chances. Scrambling defense in this match was extremely important for Erneste. This was a good win against a stingy and extremely capable opponent.

Cons: Erneste did not really look to turn and work for the major here in the third. Erneste also let Richardson in on his legs a little too easily in the first period here.

Result: #4 Jaydin Eierman INJ. Def Alex Madrigal
(MIZZ 9-3)

Pros: Eierman wrestled aggressively and hit a beautiful double leg to a trip on the edge for the first period takedown. Eierman’s rideout for the 2-0 first period lead was also really big. I really like the pace in which Eierman wrestled here.
