The Dragons had wrestlers in the first three finals matches of the day, as sophomore 106 pounder Ethan Vidal lost via fall to senior Ethan Wood of Rockport. Wood is ranked No. 3 at 106.

North Andrew freshman Dawson Fansher pinned sophomore Kaden Anderson (No. 3 at 113) of Mid-Buch to secure first place at 113 pounds. Despite pinning his opponent in the finals on his home mat, Fansher, who is ranked as an honorable mention at 106, doesn’t feel any different.

“It’s just any everyday match,” Fansher said. “I’m looking forward to everything in the future.”

Mid-Buch junior Tim Speer (No. 4 at 126) earned his 100th career victory to punch his ticket to the 120-pound finals match, where he ended up pinning senior Jeremy Wimer of Albany. Speer was happy not only for himself but his peers as well.
