Kearney Girls Invitational Wrestling Guide

Missouri’s first year of having an official women’s wrestling division has been a great success with teams all over the state having fielding teams and the numbers have been phenomenal.

This weekend Kearney will host their first women’s tournament that will feature teams from all over the state.

Also, this week women’s rankings were released, and this will give this weekend a great chance for these women to showcase their abilities and talents.

With 22 teams from all over the state this will be a great chance for some wrestlers to break into the rankings. While the depth is not there in every weight class this is going to be a great tournament that will show case some of the top women in the state.

At the 103lb class there will be ranked wrestlers that include, #2 Emalie Olsen, a junior from Kearney, and #5 Celeste Greer, a freshman from Cameron. These two will be the front runners but will face off against some tough women who will be gunning to take them out.

The 110lb weight class will bolster #3 Mckenzie Gilreath from Maysville who will be looking to take the top spot. She is the only ranked wrestler in the class, but this will be a chance to get valuable matches in for her and gives other women a chance to knock off a top ranked athlete.

At 116lb class the top wrestler should be freshman #3 Brooke Cox of Lawson. She is the only ranked wrestler,
