All three teams (Knob Noster, Versailles, and Warsaw at this Tri) will be three days removed from the Ray Stockdale Tournament in which Knob Noster dominated. Warsaw and Versailles took up two of the other top 5 positions in the competitive 15 team field. Versailles plays host to the Wildcats and Panthers on Tuesday night December 5th.
Warsaw vs. Knob Noster
106 and 113
It looks like Warsaw, like many small schools, have struggled to fill up the lower weight classes and will likely have no opposition for Sam Wilhelm and Dalton Mayhew of Knob Noster.
Team Score: 12 – 0 Knob Noster
At 120, Semaj Stinson of Warsaw will have a tall task ahead of him to defeat Logan Hernandez of Knob Noster. Though they did not face off over the weekend at the Ray Stockdale Tournament, performance against common opponents would determine that the 5 – 3 Hernandez could have the upper hand.
Prediction: Hernandez gets Knob Noster up to an early lead by finishing this match with a pin.
Team Score: 18 – 0 Knob Noster
In the next couple of weight classes, a bit of a strategy game will likely be played. Knob Noster has a few options they could take advantage of because of the numbers advantage they have over Warsaw. For arguments sake, we will go with a single example of one of the options Knob has at its disposal.
Warsaw has been open at 126 early in the season, and if that is the case, I suspect to see Carter Rhodehouse step in and take the open victory for the Panthers.
Team Score: 24 - 0 Knob Noster
