
Dr. Chris Shanks is originally from Platte City and graduated from Platte County High School (’92). Dr. Shanks attended Benedictine College on a football scholarship and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Science (’96) and a Master of Arts in Education Leadership (’03) from the institution. He then earned a Specialist in Education degree (’08) and a Doctor of Education (’13) degree from William Woods University in Fulton, MO. Dr. Shanks began his career as a high school teacher and coach at Hayden High School in Topeka, KS. He also taught and was the head football coach at Greenfield R-I and El Dorado Springs R-II prior to transitioning into the role of secondary principal within the Adrian R-III School District. Currently, Dr. Shanks is the Assistant Superintendent of the Cameron R-I School District. He and his wife, Rebecca, have two children; Caleb who is a freshman wrestler at Briar Cliff University and Karlie who is a senior at Cameron High School.
