Kansas City isn’t the only area of the state having fun over break. Several St. Louis area schools came together on Friday to determine superiority in the area. There were seven Class 4 schools, four Class 3 schools, and a singular Class 1 team in Hancock.
This tournament might not have the star power or the accolades of the Stampede or other area tournaments, but do not let that diminish its importance. With only 11 total ranked wrestlers, there was plenty of opportunity for wrestlers close to the bubble in state and district rankings to make a name for themselves
Highlighting some of the better weight classes was Colton King from Desmet, the number one ranked wrestler at 106 in Class 4 , and Joseph Johnson from Fox who is the top ranked Heavyweight in Class 4.
Coming into the day, the biggest matchup was always going to be in the Heavyweight bracket. Along with Joseph Johnson, the weight class also featured the number 3 ranked Jacobi Jackson from Desmet. There’s nothing better than knowing that the end of the tournament is sure to feature a match with some fireworks.
