2019 Kansas City Metro Classic

Recommended Posts

Excited to be a part of the Metro Classic planning team this year.  I remember watching the event when I was younger and being really pumped about being asked to compete my senior year.  Unfortunately I wrestled a horrible match and gave up a reversal and near fall to lose at the very end of the match.  I still lose sleep over it.  Haha.  Here is some information about this years event.  This page will get updated with information as we get closer to the event.  Hope to see you there.

Not making predictions, but throwing a bunch of names out there for Seniors who should certainly be considered!  Please keep in mind, this was done quickly... so if I left off a great candidate, add them!  Also, I was not sure how far to reach out from the KC area, since this is supposed to be the "KC Metro" Classic!

Will you ever move this event to the Missouri side? With the sliding attendance, you can even host it at a local high school that supports wrestling, not a community college in KS that doesn't have a program.

How about rotating between local area colleges - KCKCC, JCCC, Avila, UMKC, Rockhurst, William Jewell, etc?

I ran into Mark Ellis at an FCA function this morning.  Snagged this interview about his experience in the Metro Classic.  Did you know that Mark had to wrestle off to make the Missouri team?

That would work, too. But, it would probably be cheaper to rent out a high school gym. Maybe attendance will be up this year?
