Notable First Round Matches (Team Race or Ranked vs. Ranked)

#3 Keith Ransom, Mexico vs. Tanner Riley, Cameron

Notable Potential Quarters:

#3 Keith Ransom, Mexico vs. #4 Dillion Witt, Sullivan
#5 Preston Sleeth, Logan-Rogersville vs. HM Landen Davis, Excelsior Springs
#2 Tyler Murphy, Benton vs. #6 Granite Cunningham, Bolivar

Tyler Murphy was the state runner-up at this weight last season. Granite Cunningham took fifth place at this weight class last season. Preston Sleeth took sixth at this weight last season.

In our first quarterfinal we will likely see #3 Keith Ransom and #4 Dillion Witt. Despite being ranked lower Witt has two wins over Ransom this season and I view him as the favorite in this match. In our second quarter we will likely see #5 Sleeth and HM Davis. It should be a really competitive bout as both guys will really want to secure their top six placement. I believe Sleeth gets the win. I favor Witt over Sleeth in the semis here.

In our third quarter we will see #1 Owen Uhls run through the competition here. He is having an outstanding freshman campaign. In our final quarter we get another big bout between #2 Murphy and #6 Cunningham. These two met in the semis last season with Murphy taking the win. I see Murphy winning another close one to meet Uhls. In the semifinal I have Uhls knocking off Murphy in what likely should be the state finals bout. Uhls beat him 4-0 earlier this season. Look for a similar margin here.

In the finals we will see #1 Uhls and #4 Witt. I favor Uhls to get a solid win here for his first state title. I believe we will see Murphy come back and take third place here.

Notable First Round Matches (Team Race or Ranked vs. Ranked)

#4 Isaiah Simmons, Eldon vs. #6 Kade Scheer, Southern Boone

Notable Potential Quarters:
#5 Canyon Cunningham, Bolivar vs. HM Dalton McNeal, St. Genevieve
#2 Jackson Caswell Fulton vs. #3 Ethan Day, Excelsior Springs

Jackson Caswell took third at 106 last season. Isaiah Simmons took fourth at 120 last season. Ethan Day took fourth at 106 last season.

In our first quarterfinal we have #5 Canyon Cunningham and Dalton McNeal.
