Blake Clevenger: Drury Wrestling First National Qualifier

Kearney grad, Blake Clevenger, to wrestle in NCAA DII Championships: Drury University's first qualifier.

The brackets have been posted to TrackWrestling. These are the preliminary brackets based on a seeding committee. Drury Redshirt Senior 157 lber Blake Clevenger will face Kevin Almond (27-13) from Emanuel in the first round of the NCAA DII Championship. Clevenger comes into the National Championships with a 24-2 record having beaten several ranked opponents throughout the season.

Blake qualified for the NCAA DII Championships by placing 3rd in a very tough Super Regional Championships. He started his tournament by notching a technical fall against Tanner Sparks (Maryville) before falling in a heartbreaking quarterfinal match and then rebounding with a quick fall against Austin Morgan (UCM), Into the later rounds Clevenger defeated the NCAA #2 Ranked Efe Osaghae (Fort Hays St.) and immediately the NCAA #5 Ranked Tyler Mann (OBU). In the 3rd place match Clevenger defeated Nate Trepanier to punch his ticket to the NCAA Division II National Championships.
