A strong 19th place finish last year, and returning all varsity starters, could spell trouble for Wildcat opposition

It didn’t take long for former Wildcat wrestler, Jared Steenburgen, to make his mark during his first year as the head coach.  Steenburgen and assistant Lance Estes saw the Warsaw wrestlers finish the season with a fantastic 19th place finish at the State Tournament.  They qualified three wrestlers for the tournament and, best of all, return all three of them for this upcoming season.  In addition to the Qualifiers, they are also bringing back two wrestlers that made it to the bubble match at last years’ District Tournament.

Junior Kolby Estes led the stables last year as a Sophomore, and if it weren’t for running into the brick wall that is Brock Mauller, would have come away with some gold jewelry.  Finishing second in the state as a Sophomore is sure to propel Estes into a Junior year in which he will be that much more experienced, and that much more dangerous.
