For someone who just started wrestling three years ago, Lebanon junior Taylor Johnson has made a name for herself in the sport in Missouri.
During the 2020-21 high school season, Johnson, who was a junior varsity wrestler during her freshman year, qualified for the Missouri State High School Girls Wrestling Championships for the first time last March.
She made the most of her opportunity as she took third place at the state competition in the 143-pounds girls weight class.
She didn’t stop there.
Johnson competed in the 2021 US Marine Corps 16U & and Junior Nationals for the first time in July at Fargo, N.D. This also was her first full year competing in freestyle competition.
