Brady Roark was named the outstanding wrestler of the tournament for the lightweights at the Santa Slam, while Isabella Renfro was the outstanding wrestler for the upperweights at the Mrs. Claus Slam.
The two tournaments ran together on Saturday, capping a weekend trip to Dallas that saw both the boys and girls teams compete in a double dual as well on Friday.

“It is great for the boys and girls program, we get to come together as a team and travel and see what is it like for the state tournament coming up,” Seneca coach Jeff Sill said. “And we are not the favorite person here either. You have to adjust to the referees and crowd and get out there and battle.”
Seneca had six boys wrestle for either first or third. Roark improved to 10-0 on the season with three wins in the tournament, all by pins, to take first at 132 pounds. The two-time state champion beat Rockwall’s Dylan Milster in the finals by a pin with a second left in the first period. He beat Milster in a dual on Friday as well.
“It is a good experience,” said Roark, a South Dakota State pledge. “It is a long travel for us and kind of preparation for the state. It is good to come down here and perform well and get a win. That is one of my favorite things. It is refreshing (to see new competition). In Southwest Missouri, we see the same guys quite a bit. There are some guys down here and good wrestlers.”
