Thread: NCAA DI Championships

    Thumbs up

Great article on Dr. McGuire...he has been at MU since the mid '80's and i had the pleasure of taking a course of his.
Back to NCAA's - one thing I saw about the tigers last week is they realize what it takes to win the close matches...the 1 or 2 point nail biters...I saw McCormick and Larson hang on by a thread at the end of a perid not to give up a point and win big matches...when time was running out....On the hand... I saw OKie State (lay down) and give up 2 takedowns with 15 seconds or less.... to lose 2 crucial bouts...the reason I bring this up is that what it takes to be an All-American...you have to know how to win....where you are on the mat (where the edge is)....how much time on the clock...what the riding time is......MU guys know this and they will be ready....MY opinion knock off a big seed early...every ones record is 0-0 at this tounament...screw the seeding committee - this is motivation......NO RESPECT

Question? is Mellon ready to go? who are the NCAA alternates? On of our Missouri boys- Sheer (sp) from Stanford 285 (MICDS) placed 3rd in his conference!

Wow. Zannetti is a tough 2nd round match, but I like Perrelli in the quarters.

McCormick got absolutely hosed. He's been ranked in the 9-12 range all year long, wrestles Oliver tough in the finals, and gets rewarded with no seed? Ridiculous. I do like his backside potential though, getting Keith/Harvard then Lomas or Mack. Carter has been struggling of late, so who knows?

That's the draw Hucke deserved, but his next two matches should be Hough/Duke then Mariacher/American. Winnable matches.

A seed for Bradley would have been nice, but bonus potential against Wilson, then I like his chances against Mason. Tough draw though.

Again, a seed for Houdashelt would have been nice, and St. John is a tough draw, but I know St. John is thinking the same thing.

Toal wasn't likely to get a seed anyway, and I like his chances against the freshman Kokesh.

Henderson got the best draw of the lot. True freshman Storley vs. experienced senior. Then Detmer or Huntley (who cares) then Lofthouse, who Pat Wright already beat. Dorian AA's by making it to the semis, that's what I think.

Larson, right or wrong, was a long shot for a seed and got the #1, but his next three matches should be Radford/Smith, Clymer, and Beard. I like his chances to make it to the blood round.

Haynes will do what he does and make it to Honeycutt. Then we'll see.

Mellon got a tough quarter, no doubt. Hopefully he's healthy.

Could have been better, but I still think our guys have what it takes to put 5 in the round of 12 and 3 into the semis. Gonna take some gutsy performances, but we already know they're capable of that, don't we?

You can not tell me that they seed 12 and the rest is a draw system. What are the odds that That out of 8 unseeded wrestlers we get 3 1st seed draws, 2-2nd seed draws, and a 4th seed draw. Million to one. Total BS
