    Default Dream Team

What would your high school wrestling dream team look like? Pick from any wrestlers that you like to fill your lineup (they just need to have wrestled in the 2000's). Any school. Who's on your team?

    Default 2000's Dream Team

    103 - Spenser Mango, CBC
    112 - Ryan Mango, Whitfield
119 - Tim Kephart, Francis Howell
125 - Alan Waters, Park Hill
130 - Mac Bailey, Oak Park
135 - Zack Bailey, Oak Park
    140 - Nick Lester, Eureka
    145 - Matt Lester, Eureka
    152 - Peter Miller, MICDS
    160 - Bobby Conn, Marquette
    171 - Derron Winn, Liberty
189 - Scott Barker, Oakville (Forgot if he graduated in late 90's or early 2000's)
215 - Devin Mellon, Lawson (Don't really remember much of this weight)
285 - Dom Bradley, Blue Springs

I played around with the weights a little bit on some of these, but I don't think there's anything too unrealistic.

That's fine, but I'd put Barker at 215 and Caputo at 189 (simply based on their national work in HS). Maybe B Simpson @ 160 (Greco national champ).

Re: Verdoorn - yes, he would have to be on the list as well. Maybe 215 1A and 1B with Barker.

Re: Dickey - I wouldn't put him over Alan Waters. Over Kephart? Kephart was a Jr National FS national champ, and ranked top 1,2,3 in the country. Don't get me wrong, Dickey was real damn good. Just not sure where he fits in.

Peter Miller was a stud - maybe Houdashelt there too?

I completely forgot about Caputo, that's a good addition there. I imagine Drake Hovis (was this the older one?) and Brent Haynes could be a solid addition to the upper weights as well.

I think Houdashelt could be a good addition as well. I'm exciting to see how far he can take things at the D-1 level.

I think highschool Kephart outshines Dickey. I don't know what Dickey was able to do after high school, but I remember Kephart's style not translating too well to the college scene. Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

Style......and possibly desire. Maybe he enjoyed being a college student more than being a college wrestler. Understandable

Dickey - went to Cornell. Was in and out of lineup for most of career, qualified for the NCAA's his senior year.

    Default Craig Wilson

    From the Old Dominion website:
Three-time Missouri state champion and four-time finalist...Holds Missouri state record in career wins and takedowns...Named Dave Schultz Excellence Award winner for Missouri...Team Captain...Finished with career record of 202-4...Three-time All-American...Sixth at FILA Cadet Nationals...Second at Cadet Freestyle Nationals...Third at Junior Freestyle Nationals.

I guess maybe he was passed on the takedown record, but how can he not be on this roster?

I'd say his credentials are pretty stellar. A pin and two majors in the State Finals.
    2008 145 pound Finals
Craig Wilson 47-1 (Sr.), Farmington Fall Cody Hemme 33-7 (Sr.), Fort Osage, 3:21

    2007 135 pound Finals
Craig Wilson 49-0 (Jr.), Farmington M-Dec Greg Amos 35-3 (Fr.), Holt, 9-1

    2006 125 pound Finals
Craig Wilson 48-0 (So.), Farmington M-Dec Cody Farinella 40-1 (So.), Parkway North, 16-7

    2005 119 pounds
Aaron Senzee over Craig Wilson - not sure of their season records or the score
