We are starting kids club wrestling this year if we can locate a mat. We have the athletic club behind us and if participation is what we expect, we will have 7-8th grade next year with varsity to follow in 2011-2012. As any fan of the sport knows, it is always a tremendous thing when a new program starts up and gives kids who have never been exposed to the awesome sport of wrestling a chance to participate. We have the location, coaches, initial count of kids, and the dedication and desire to succeed with our wrestling program. The only thing lacking, is the mat. I would even entertain renting a mat if that is all we can come up with. Any help or leads on a mat would be greatly appreciated.
