What is the record for the most high school wins and who holds it?
What are some school records for career wins by individuals?
(Is there a thread in regards to this already?)

Best win percentage is Schatzmann (149-0)--100% :-D
THat was the record for wins for a few years, but I'm sure its been broken since with the number of matches kids are getting now.

When did the MSHSAA change to rule that limited the number of matches a kid could have in one year? When I was in school (A long time ago) a wrestler could only have 30 (might have been 34) match in a single year, including the state tourny.
Help education an old wrestler that has to come up to speed to get his 5 year into wrestling? :?

Not sure when the rule changed but now wrestlers can wrestle up to 50 matches before Districts. I think it was changed with more teams wanting to wrestle dual tournaments to get all their wrestlers 5 matches in a single day.

or is it 40? Perhaps I should look it up.

Does the new rule have anything to do with the removal of Sectionals. because that gives another week before districts?

I think it was just intended to give the kids more opportunities to wrestle and see more competition.
I read on The Predicament home page that Sebolt from Centerville will probably hit 200+ this season for his career. Anyone in the state done this in the past or is anyone currently on that pace to hit 200? Any of the Oak Park kids or Winn from Liberty have a chance (not sure of their career records)?

If Nick Lester doesn't get it, it will only be because he will have never been in wrestlebacks or because teams juggle line-ups to avoid him. I still can't believe he has tech-falled or pinned everyone he has wrestled this year - as a freshman. Sheesh!
Possibly Matt Lester?, Senzee and Pierce from Kearney?, maybe Wolk?

Obviously, some states are much more liberal when it comes to the total number of matches allowed.

The new is 50 matches before districts. I asked earlier what the record is for Missouri wins in a season, feasably it could be up to 59, but more than likely with a first round bye at districts and 4 matches to a state title it would be 57. I remember someone from Jackson having 54? wins a couple of years ago.
As far as someone wanting to know some of the tops in MO...Tanner Wolk would probalby be pretty high up there in wins. After the season is over, hey may be somewhere around 170.
Tanner Wolk
2005-06 47-0 (probably will be 54-0)
2004-05 44-2
2003-04 State champ, can't find numbers
02-03 5th at state, again can't find numbers. But I know someone who can.

these guys all wrestled varsity in the 7th or 8th grade years. Some states allow that.
