:D That's what we do best. So, no, I wouldn't count him out; as long as he keeps focused I'm sure he'll have some very good, close matches, and even come out on top.

Wow, no love for Brengle at 152? The kids good.
Also, you must not have seen Corzine wrestle Haddad. I don't think Haddad is getting the upset unless a ref gives it to him.

I don't think that Harris will beat Garcia for the title; Ried will be ready for the match and if you want to watch a rematch of Garcia/Harris from the Lafayette tournament, tonight (Feb. 3) P. South vs Lafayette at South, F JV starts at 6.

I'd love to see it but I have to take my 12-year old to Future Falcon night at Summit. Yes, it's a basketball game. Please post the results. Thanks.

Sorry, just noticed that he is at 160. But no way Gant over Beardon and Brengle will be in the top 4.

beardon will win at 152. i don't see uzetta getting out of the district. not saying he is not good, just don't think he'll make it out. just a hunch. also don't forget that out of the top 5 in 152, Brengle and Beardon are the only two who have been on the mats in Columbia.

I think there could be a few upsets at the lower weights. Just my opinion.

luke valleroy over either mcmillian or tulley in the semis at 145
grapplemonster
02-06-2006, 09:12 AM
Luke is pretty tough, but I think that Tulley and McMillan are a little too much for him right now.
I do think that the Tulley /McMillan match could go either way.
There are going to be soo many good matches at almost every weight. The cream will rise to the top!! :smt026
I guess the seeding meeting is tonight, so we will see how things lay out later. I will try to get the info and pass it along either tonight or tomorrow.
I have a coach connection to one of the schools.

....not to shiat in anyones cherrios this morning or anything but I thought I'd toss this nugget out to you D1 folks.
A group of us wrestling die-hards were sipping a box of AB's finest yesterday watching the super-bowl when the oldest one in the group said...
"You know, district one might not even produce a single state champ this year..."
We all looked at him cocked-eye and then spent the rest of the night trying to discount him.....and couldn't....

You know me well....
D1 has three chances for a state champ...
Vito at 112 Can he beat Irving?
Green at 125 Is he over the knock-out blow Vito I layed on him?
Pepper at 135 Is Gag going 140 or 135???

...but district 1 will have a he## of a lot of state placers!!
I think that you need to look at total medals and D1 will most likely be only second to D4.
D2 most weights in D3 are cupcakes compared to D1 and 4

Does anybody know when the last time District one did not have a state champion?
Louden
02-06-2006, 11:38 AM
I think District 1 will have a State Champ. We got a few guys with the potential. Vito Krischke at 112 could do it, I wouldn't be shocked to see a District 1 guy win at 125 because I don't think they would be totally blown out of the water against anyone here, even though Garcia hasn't been as sharp at 130, I think it would be silly to write him off completely, at 135 there is Pepper who is undefeated yet still an underdog against Joiner and Gagliano, Porter could make it to the Finals against Bailey, who knows what Beardon can do at 152, and Campbell at 160 will have a say, Rampley at 215 is undefeated...
I'd bet there would be at least one, but who knows.

Porter in the finals...he is good, but not that good. He should be happy with a 4-6th place...Does he have the left handed head n arm?

Have u seen the kid wrestle. He is very tough. the state finals are definately not out of the question for this kid. probably northwest's most sure fire medalist outside of vito K.

Monster, are you missing your art class right now? Li'Porter is good and if he wants to use a head-n-arm he can. So there.

I think that you need to look at total medals and D1 will most likely be only second to D4.
D2 most weights in D3 are cupcakes compared to D1 and 4D1(or Sectional 1) over the past few years has consistently been the 2nd or 3rd toughest Qualifier, depending on the year.
D4 has been by far the toughest, and D2 has been by far the weakest.
But, D1 and D3 have been very equal over the last 5 years.....Both very AVERAGE.
An average District/Sectional will score roughly 400 points at State,
have roughly 3.5 Champs, 7 finalists, 21 medalists, one team trophy...etc...
I do NOT see District 3 as a "cupcake" District in comparison to District 1.
I see District 3 as essentially equal to District 1 in projecting team points, champs, finalists, medalists, etc...
BOTH, are very average....meaning likely to obtain an average amount of medalists, team points, trophies, champs, etc....
Just my humble opinion...
