They would never do that. Zac would tear Tyron up. There is a reason that they call it mixed martial arts and Cummings has some great BJJ. I would love to see it though and would drive anywhere in the state to see it!

Have you seen Tyron Woodley fight?
Have you seen Tyron Woodley for that matter??

Tyron is welter weight, Zak is Middle weight, so that would be an issue. Although Tyron is very good and it most likely would be a good fight, Zak has the edge in BJJ experience and a wrestling background as well, so I would have to give the edge to him.

Tyron is a great wrestler with awesome punching power but at this stage of his career he is going to have to develop some BJJ experience if he is going to go to battle with the big boys. I do look forward to watching him progress through the ranks and wish him nothing but the best.

The fact that Zak beat Terry Martin who is a 7 fight UFC vetran, has fought in Affliction, and had an 18-6 record going into the fight speaks for itself about how talented Zak really is. It should also bring some attention as to how good the training is at the Springfield Fight Club.

Interesting thought though.

I have not seen Zak fight, so I am curious as to how his stand up is. If Tyron's stand up is superior, I don't see it as very likely that Zak gets Tyron down to the mat.

Where does Zak train his BJJ?

Stillman, Tyron hasn't beaten anyone like Terry Martin, you're right... but he hasn't had the opportunity either.

I'm sure he will get the chance to fight someone like Martin, I'm just saying that at this point in his career, IMO it would be a mistake to take that chance right now.

Quote from Sherdog article: "His (Martin) fearsome hands, which have given him knockouts in almost half of his professional fights, were never a factor."

I'd say Zak's stand-up is pretty good if he can neutralize Martin's standup. I watched Martin fight Chris Leben and Martin owned him for three rounds of standup until late in the third when they got into a toe to toe slugfest and Leben caught him on the chin and knocked him out. Leben got the beat down for most of those three rounds.

Cummings is not even in the same level as Woodly in MMA. Zak has some knock out power himself. I think Stillman is pretty much telling you the truth without just saying he would get his ass whooped! Springfield Fight Club is for real!

I wanted to say thank you for everyone's support. I really appreciate everything. As for me and Tyron, it would pretty much be pointless. I have a ton of respect for Tyron, and him being a welterweight it would be dumb for both of our careers to have a Missouri superfight even though I agree it would be a hell a fight for the fans. It's true that I have fought on a much higher level but I'm sure he will perform just fine on that level as well. I'll be happy to get all the Missouri boys we can into the bigger shows, so I give best of luck to everyone out there. We have some fights in Springfield coming up on March 7th at the Shrine Mosque with alot of my teammates from Springfield Fight Club on the card. Come down if you get a chance.

Again Thanks For Your Support,
Zak Cummings

FYI for everyone saying Tyrone needs some more BJJ... he's been a purple belt for two years, and i wouldn't be suprised if he has/get's his brown soon.
