Im sure you've all heard "I love food too much to wrestle" from a nonwrestler, this is the topic of a paper I am writing and would like to hear from some of your points of view on why you wrestle or did wrestle. Is it schoool tradition, family, friends, or something else? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

That is good---
WHY WRESTLE?
Wrestling prepares a person to fight the game of life.
The wrestler is the one athlete that must meet his opponent and do battle completely on his own;
No one can substitute: no time outs are possible.
He has no one to check, screen, block, or assist him in any way;
There is no one to blame for his mistakes.
When he wins, he must show quiet pride and modesty.
When he loses, the responsibility is his.
Wrestling is a true sport.
In other sports, when contact is made, they blow the whistle to stop the action;
In wrestling, when contact is made, we're just getting started.
The individual, through self-denial, offers more of his character than ever be explained here.
It is something he carries with him throughout life...
Through every trial, test, and tribulation wrestlers are battle-tested

have you ever had the feeling that you are dead tired and cannot go anymore then you continue and keep on going because you just cannot let yourself down. that is waht wrestling is. it is the means to go beyond what others will not. To never have defeat in your mind. There are sports that you can place blame on others, or even see that yo uare down and you cannot get back in time, in wrestling you have the option to make yourself mentally tougher and continue and maybe get the pin.
Wrestling is not just a sport it is a way of life.
