If someone can score 13 points on Collins, I'd like to be there to see it, because it would be a shocker. I've seen almost every match of his this season and he started breathing hard on a couple---maybe.

Dirty Bird,
you wont be able to blink or you will miss at least one or two takedowns Winn will score on Collins. I'm not taking ANYTHING away from Collins. Winn is the best wrestler in the state of Missouri at this time. He is outstanding on his feet.

Wow!!!! Collins by major???? Winn is a great wrestler and there is no one in the state that will major him, in my opinion. Trever is excited for the opportunity to compete against someone of Winn's caliber and it will be great in helping him prepare for the state tournament. After seeing Deron wrestle, I am sure that it will be a great match. Let's not forget that their will be some other great wrestlers in this weight class that will lead to some exciting matches.

Winn over Collins, 6-3.
I'll throw this out there, just to see the responses:
Winn has the advantage before they even step on the mat.
When you're an elite MO wrestler, it's hard to get any good matches at tournaments such as Lexington, Lebanon, Monett, and McDonald County; compared to Liberty's Park Hill, Raytown South, Winnetonka, and Marquette Tournaments. Jake Guthier (PC) has been the only one worthy of a match this year for Collins. Plus, whenever you get to wrestle ranked wrestlers every day in practice [Liberty: (152, Jason Rodick, HM)(160, Michael Forrest, HM)(171, Brett Sanders, 6th)(215, Mitch Barnett, 5th)(275, Andrew Beile, HM)], it's going to make you better.
With that said: I predict Collins will start out slow, then make his way back into the match, but Winn will hold him off for the victory.

I would guess that Collins can keep it closer than anybody Winn will wrestle this year (in Missouri high schools).

I'm not following your sarcasm....No! I do not think Collins would win. Against Wolk or Winn. In fact I think Wolk against Winn would be a great match...Tanner doesn't get to wrestle in the bigger tournaments thru the season . So there for he gets over looked.
After watching him at Oakville and at Semo conference,I can see him going thru state without being scored on.
No disrespect to Collins at all, he is great and has to be the class 3 favorite.

Trever has had a hard time finding quality matches so far this year, that is why we are heading to Liberty. I also think that Wolk versus either Collins or Winn would be a great match. No predictions coming from here on who would win any of these matches. They are all matches that I would love to see. Hopefully this weekend, Trever will make his way into the finals and get the opportunity to see one of great ones.

This is a joke right ! Collins making a show with Winn. Winn will do as he all ways dose 10 to 12 take downs only points Collins will get is what is given to him by Winn, And if Collins shows any chance of doing anything Winn will pin him in the 1st period. Not wanting to put Collins down but Winn is just that Outstanding even Oak Park hates going against Winn.

Well not so sure Oakpark would want to wrestle Collins either he beat Gleason 2 years ago Haynes can't get past Bowman yet. And Jeff Bowman has'nt beat Winn. Not sure how Oakpark even plays into this, They may be the best in the land in several weight classes but not at 189.
If Collins is looking for quality matches he could have bumped up and wrestled Monett's 215. That might have been an interesting match.
j. carter
01-25-2006, 06:26 AM
Monett's 215, Dakota Greenhaw, is an outstanding wrestler and would provide a great match for Collins or anyone else for that matter. He is big strong and physical. You can blame the coach for missing that one. I just did not think of it until we were there (at the dual) and did not feel as though it was a good match up at that point.

Fudge, I'm waiting for the punchline.
"Collins by a major"
"Winn can't go with Collins on his feet."
These are statements a lunatic would make. Collins IS a great wrestler, by mere mortal standards, but Deron is... well Deron. He's a freak of nature, and he doesn't just beat other good wrestlers, he devastates them. I've seen both wrestle up close and personal, and I'm not sure what some of you have been watching. I know the argument people will make about Collins' defense, his length, etc. All that will go by the wayside when the Winn Express runs right through him- about 8 times. It may end up a decision, but it will not be close. My prediction: Fudge eats major crow.
Winn, 11-4.
And please, don't bring Wolk into this. Did he not get enough of the Moore fiasco last year?

No, not really. I've seen Collins a few times this year, and I don't think Winn can keep up w/ his pace.
Matt Burnz
01-26-2006, 01:55 PM
Deron does not keep up with others’ pace. He sets the pace. Deron does not sleep. He waits. Deron is so fast he can touch MC Hammer. His chief export is the takedown. He has two speeds: tech. fall and pin. Scientists use two different units of measure for speed: the speed of light and the speed of Deron. He once fought Chuck Norris to a draw. (And we all know how impressive that is.)
Still, Fudge, I think you need to push back from the computer a while. There must be some fumes radiating from it that are affecting your judgment. Nothing against Collins, he’s become a great wrestler, in spite of his lack of coaching  , and I hope this is a close match, but I just don’t think it will be.
