Thoughts on Affliction: Banned

1. Aside from Big Joe McCarthy, horrible commentators in Jay Glazer and Frank Trigg. Glazer should stick to sideline reporting for football on fox. Trigg wasn't bad, but seemed partial to his training partners at Xtreme Couture

2. Great Card, better than anything the UFC, Elite XC, BODOG, IFL, or K-1 has put together in a very long time.

3. Andrei Arlovski looked to back to his old ways when he was the UFC World Heavyweight Champ. Takedowns looked muched improved against Ben Rothwell. Also Josh Barnett's KO of Pedro Rizzo was Nasty.

4. Affliction should do away with listing off the celebrtities in attendance before the Fedor-Sylvia Fight. Also, get rid off the crappy ramp entrances and the musical act. I mean i'm a fan of Megadeath but man they sounded bad.

5. Can anybody beat Fedor Emelianeko? Seriously, The Last Emporer just took out Tim Sylvia in 36 seconds!!! I have never seen Fedor fight live until tonight, and I just don't see anybody beating him. Randy Couture maybe like 3-5 years ago. I just don't see a 45 year old man beating arguably the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. But i guess crazier stuf has happened, I just wouldn't put any money on it.

Great show, but I wouldn't say it was better than any UFC card in a long time (i'd love to know why you think so). Keep in mind that Affliction showcased ALL of their talent in one show.

Great to see Vitor Belfort fight again.

IMO the ring is much better than the cage! The walkway thing was done to mimick the old Pride entrance and is kind of cool

I would much rather see Arlovski/Fedor than Fedor giving Couture a royal beatdown.

I'm really interested in seeing how many PPV buys there were. That will be a good indicator of how long Affliction will last.

Just for the sole reason that they did stack all of their talent on one card. I now expect them to do like the UFC does and spread out the big names on to different cards in order to keep it going. I know the old pride entrance, except it was a lot bigger and more eolborate than Affliction's. I just thought it was kind of tacky, but it would've been just as tacky if the copied UFC's entrance, so i guess its just a lesser of two evil's.

I would bet the UFC(well ZUFFA) will buy them out. They dont like any competitors unless they own them....
