Where's Chris Wardenhouse and Cole Hoelsher (215) for Helias? Are they both hurt? I haven't heard anything about them from the last couple matches, and it seems they didn't wrestle at Platte County.

I understand Hoelscher has an ankle injury and should return soon.......Werdenhause has a concussion and is out for the season

chris is going to try to make it back for districts. The neurologist has him sitting out for right now though

Has Helias really fallen this far in recent years? Getting smoked by Moberly (no disrespect intended). In the not-so-recent past this was fairly unheard of.
Hats off to the Moberly kids, though.

There is a reason why they got kicked out of the NCMC! The other schools wanted better competition!

In all honesty. Moberly is very solid team. I am picking them as top 3 with a chance at #1.
Tutt
Kitchen
Spillars
Keleher
Gibbs
Jorgensen
Wybert
All have a chance at placing and Tutt, Keleher, and Gibbs with taking home the GOLD!
:D

Mobery is tough
I didn't think they were that good. but man they are stepping up. How do they match up against HAN (I know they are diff classes now but I assume there is a confernce tourney for the NCMC still).

Moberly got beat by hannibal pretty good before Hannibal made all of their moves down. Hannibal is just to solid up and down their lineup. They have a great team this year.
The NCMC hasn't had a tournament since the the second year they had a Sectional tournament. Sometime in the early 90's. It is all based off of duals.
Legrider.....Moberly has almost no chance of winning it. They don't have the depth to win it and if some of their kids don't step up they won't even get a trophy. They have 4-5 second tier guys that have to 1)decide they want to be a part of the team 2)get to state and 3)score points.
They will have 3-4 medal winners but it will take at least 6 maybe 7 to bring home a trophy and I don't think the other kids will step up. They don't realize they have a chance to be a part of a special season and probably won't figure it out until they are out of HS.

130-Tutt has a good chance
160- Great freshman but not at Yust's level (impressive that he pinned Wood from Hannibal though)
189- Maybe if Gibbs drops to 171 or goes to 215

NCMCALUMNI,
I am telling your brother that you have no faith in the boys! He will whoop your butt! Are you a bandwagon rider or what? [-X It is a shame when a fan of wrestling from another school has more faith than one of it so called FOLLOWERS: :-D
If you are trying to fire up the boys, in my opinion you are doing it the wrong way. Doubting them only puts doubt in their minds, when there shouldn't be any room for that!!!
To make that claim, you should have already done your homework. So tell me what you think the team results will be since you didn't like my assessment!
And if you want to know how I knew who you are: It is because I did my homework because you didn't want to tell me!
Now don't stay silent because I called you out after you smacked down on the Moberly Team!

Maybe in his opinion he's not doing it the wrong way?
So tell me what you think the team results will be since you didn't like my assessment!
I think he already did that...said that some of them needed to figure it out and step up if they want a team trophy.
I don't really see a slam on any of the kids in the above post...just some apparent "facts".

legrider, My brother, the wrestlers (especially the wrestlers), parents and former Moberly wrestlers all know my opinion on the subject. I am a realist and have seen the team wrestle all year. I don't think you can just baby a bunch of kids hoping they will come around at some point. Eventually they have to make a decision to work harder and be more committed to winning. In some cases you need to put a foot in their butt to motivate them.
Bandwagon jumper???? You have to be kidding. You know nothing about that subject. I followed the team even when I lived 1000 miles away. I have a lot of faith in the wrestlers that come to practice work hard and go the extra distance it takes to place at state. It's the kids that have the talent and choose to just get by that I don't really have much faith in.
Frankly I have no predictions for the team results. I think this year’s team race is going to be a hell of a fight. It will all come down to which teams step up. At this point I cannot say that the entire Moberly team will. They have to worry about the district tournament first.
Anytime my brother wants to try whooping me he can call me out. He has to many beatings in the past to want some more of me!

I have to differ with you on your opinion of defending Mr NCMCALUM.
The only assessment he gave was that Moberly wouldn't place if some of the kids don't step up. I think every school could say that and if no other school steps ups Moberly could still win it. All things being equal and all.
As far as your opinion on slamming the kids and apparent "fact". Mr NCMC has offered an opinion not "facts"! And my opinion is that his opinion sucks! :D And I can have that opinion.

NCMC,
You might want to be a Drill Sargent. Never satisfied! They just beat Helias soundly(until last year hadn't done that in a while if ever), defeated a very good Marshall team, Lost to Kirksville in a controversial call (per your post on ? coaching). I think all 3 of those teams have quality programs. Now that is just the wrestling aspect:
Now the personal side: If you just want to measure a successful Team from WINS/LOSSES and State performance. You are soundly way off base. These boys will do fine in life (parenting,Education, wrestling) with what they have accomplished already, regardless of their performances at State.
I think everyone of them will give it everything they have and the coaching staff (Richardson, Barnett and the other assistant whose name escapes me right now, and I can't forget Coach Vitt who I know he is there somewhere) will work their butt off to make sure the boys are prepared. ANd if they don't win it they will be still be able to say hey we did our best and not look at it a as Failure!
So get out the whip and keep lashing. :smt079
And by the way my money is on your brother. I have seen him mad! :D

This is where I think you are incorrect. I know the kids better than you do and some of the kids are not giving it thier best and I believe they will regret it later in life.
You only have x number of chance to be a part of a State place winning team and if you don't seize the day it will end without you.
And as far as the coaches are concerend I think they all suck! And if they don't like what I have to say I will take them all on at the RB dual tonight.

Know the kids better??? Let see
#1 You are not a parent of a wrestler on the team!
#2 Just moved back I think from Pennsylvania a couple years ago after being gone for a while!
#3 Not involved with the Moberly High School Wrestling program!
IMO You are an Arm Chair Quarterback! :smt102 All the answers sitting on the sidelines.
I have been involved with Kids Club Wrestling for almost 15 years, have seen and had kids wrestle against Moberly boys for years. A few of the Moberly boys went up with us to the National Tournament in Omaha Nebraska. Where we brought home a 6' Trophy for Winning out of State team division. It is in the Showcase at the high school if you want to see it! As a side note, while not wrestling, coached 3 of the Moberly boys on my traveling baseball team. They are also very good baseball players.
Sure YOU might not feel the coaches are getting a 150% out of every boy, but that is your opinion. Remember the actions of a few shouldn't ruin the accomplishments of a lot!
I also would take Coach Vitt over you in 2 periods. I heard he is an animal on the mat! :-D

Not involved in Moberly Wrestling? That is funny coming from someone in Mexico!
I wonder if we asked each of the kids if they knew either you or me how many of them would even know who you are? My bet is each of them is going to know me.
How much do you really even know about me? Really! Maybe you should talk to Watson or Heaton or even Nolan and see if you really know as much as you think.
Serious, come on!

NCMC when does knowing the wrestlers have anything to do with involvement with program. I am sure they know you, it probably helps having your brother being the coach for your popularity. But seriously when was the last time you were in the wrestling room with the boys?
I am not taking anything away from your support of the Spartans. But show a little love to them. :smt055
Nice thing about this whole topic is we are both pulling for them as long as they aren't wrestling any of my Dawgs! Take it easy on the coaches tonight at the Rock Bridge Dual. Let us know the results when you get back home. :D

Legrider, Let me go on record as saying it doesn't matter to me what your opinions are, you're free to have yours and I'm free to have mine. I only chimed in on this discussion because I didn't think NCMC was bashing anyone and just was giving his fair assessment of what he thought was going on.
Legrider.....Moberly has almost no chance of winning it. They don't have the depth to win it and if some of their kids don't step up they won't even get a trophy. They have 4-5 second tier guys that have to 1)decide they want to be a part of the team 2)get to state and 3)score points.

Seems like a pretty honest and general opinion of what HE feels needs to happen. No kid in particular is called out and nothing personal spelled out. I actually don't see one thing wrong with the above quote. Pretty much spells out what HE feels needs to be done. Disagree if you wish.
I think every school could say that and if no other school steps ups Moberly could still win it
Live in your world if you like but not every team in the state can say they have a shot at a trophy. From NCMC's statement I'm taking it as he sees them actually having a legitimate shot at bringing home a trophy but only if some guys step up, focus, and perform. No matter what you try and tell me not every team has a legitimate shot, no matter how many kids "step up". I've seen teams this year that couldn't sniff a trophy no matter how many kids "stepped up" coming down the stretch here. Fact is few teams have legitimate shots each year...they're called "favorites".
And again, disagree or agree to any or all....makes no difference to me. We can agree to disagree because I'll still think I'm right
