PWA
Our PWA high school sessions are once again packed wall to wall and we are expecting great things for our students come next February. State Champs, Medalists, and nationally ranked wrestlers....as well as competitive up-and-comers, are training on a weekly basis with PWA once again this summer. Youth wrestlers also have many great options and our youth numbers range between 25-35 per room during the off-season and these will be the future State Champs in MO and future college wrestlers. Needless to say, we have many quality partners to choose from that include countless numbers of state champs and medalists.
Drilling and Skills
Sports like gymnastics, wrestling, judo, diving, figure skating, etc….are such high skill-level sports that constant and intense drilling is the key to success at the higher levels. While in most parts of the USA, wrestling is commonly taught to be a brawl or fight and too much time is spent on conditioning, pushups, and raw, hard drilling. At Purler Wrestling, we teach wrestling as a technical-based sport and develop the conditioning and mental toughness side thru the focused, organized, and intensive drill sessions as well as the live wrestling sessions which pit you against some of the top wrestlers in the USA. The best wrestlers make it look easy. The best wrestlers have technique-strength and seem to over-power even the most muscle-bound athletes. The best wrestlers move effortlessly on the mat and drill cleanly and with precision.
Better at wrestling, or just exhausted?
Remember, just because your son is exhausted, beat up, and tired after practices does not necessarily mean he got better at wrestling that day. The best wrestlers will beat a top opponent badly and after the match, the top opponent looks like he’s been through hell while the skilled wrestler’s hair isn’t even messed up. Why? He is very skilled and refined and has been put through the paces in the workout room. This is the goal and the intentions of Purler Wrestling. You can do pushups and sprints on your own.
Athletes
Besides, the superior athletes are the only ones who benefit from the raw, hard drilling, live wrestling / conditioning-type of workouts. If your son is not a superior athlete or very strong for his age, he needs to win with skills, techniques, positioning. Our drill sessions will make you a better athlete and getting THESE kids on the state medal stands quickly is what Purler Wrestling is all about and have become known for throughout the USA. From April - July, Nick and his growing staff of coaches will begin flying all over the USA teaching weekend workshops in the following states: AZ, CO, CA, PA, MN, NJ, OH, MA, IA, IL, ME, and LA and our calendar is completely booked from April - July. If you'd like to see if PWA is for you, then please make contact with us and set up some trial workouts. While others are flying us all over Amercia, it may make sense to see if we can help your son...especially since PWA is right in your own back yard.
We currently have groups of kids loading into vans and driving 6 hours round trip to train with the Purler brothers. Otherwise, our Takedown Machine logo (above) delivers all the info you need on our successful summer wrestling camp and high school teams from as far away as PA are driving in with van loads of 15-25 HS wrestlers that use the TDM camp for their team camp needs.
Off-season wrestling - It is said that Summer Wrestling Makes Winter Champions and this is absolutely true! Wrestling is a process and 8 months of off-season, intensive drilling makes the difference. Training your muscles how to wrestle is the key and focused, repetition drilling is the only way to accomplish this. If your off-season regimen is largely about raw drilling and pushups...or worse yet, running...then give PWA a try. Throw your running shoes in the trash and learn how to wrestle. Contact us today!
Good luck!
