What Teams? Can't remember many from last year except HC,Marq,Patt and Hannibal.

I think Hazelwood Cent., Rolla, and Eureka will all be there. I assume HC means Howell Central (will also be there).

I believe Belville West and Troy are also in this tournament. 8)

So it will just be four team pools instead of five?

I hate to say it, but this tournament is losing alot of steam without Eureka and Hannibal.
Didn't Northwest used to participate in this tournament? When did they stop coming to it?

To my knowledge of the tournamnet it has been over 5 years (including this year) without NW.

So what will the format be? Two pools of four, with top two into a bracket, or will it be a traditional tournament where there are eight man bracket's? It does hurt to lose those two schools, but it is still better than when it was just a quad. The only holdover from those days is Belleville West.

I can't wait to see Bradley(FHC) battle it out with Allgire(BW) should be quite a test for young Bradley. 160 looks like the meat grinder for the 2nd year in a row at Howell.

does anyone know for sure if Hannibal and Eureka will be at Howell this year?
The Godfather
01-18-2006, 08:28 PM
Hannibal and Eureka will not be at the Kyle Thrasher Memorial Tournament this year.
XwrestlerX, they will not be there, the tournament flyer only has 8 teams attending. Hazelwood Central, Francis Howell, Pattonville, Marquette are in one pool. Francis Howell Central, Troy, Rolla, and Belleville West are in the other pool. 3 duals in your pool. Then it will be #1 from blue pool against #2 in the gold pool, and #2 from blue pool against #1 in the gold pool in a semi-final round with winners going for first and losers going for third. Not sure if there will be consolations for the #3 and #4 in each pool.

I heard rumor that the boys get 2lbs plus the growth this weekend. Is it true that they get 4lbs? Who wrestles to earn that?

That's a bummer if Allgire goes 112. It would be awesome to see him wrestle against Bradley.

Is it true that they get 4lbs?
I believe that's illegal now, even at state.

No..the growth allowance does not count. 2lbs + growth is the max.

who is in the 1st and 3rd place matches and what time do they start
Great win for Kyle Bradley! Does anyone know how the points went in those final 40 seconds? Obviously Kyle outscored him 9-2, but how did he get his points?
Mayor McCheese
01-21-2006, 03:32 PM
Greg,
I believe it went takedown for Bradley (2), near fall (2), reversal for Allgire (2), and reversal for Bradley (2).
That is 6 pts for Bradley and 2 pts for Allgire in the closing minute of a tough fought match.
Thank you. Again great win for Kyle.

Hannibal will be at the FHC tournament along with Howell in 2 weeks, they should meet there
ttulley
01-22-2006, 10:25 AM
Tulley was 5 and 0 on the day. He beat Morris, Fankhauser and Patrick in the pool and beat the FHC wrestler and Patrick in the finals round. Both matches with Patrick were down to the wire. 145 was a very solid weight class yesterday and would have been outstanding if we would have had Oeschner and Diekhaus. Brian was recovering from the flu and I understand Diekhaus is recovering from an injury. We wish both of them a speedy and healthy return.
