CBC won but it was close. DeSmet did not have a 215 or heavywt, so they actually won matches wrestled, but lost on total points. Banning pinned his kid after playing with him for a period and the 135 pounder for CBC won an exciting match in OT.

The CBC freshman squad looked really tough and won big. Should be some good wrestlers coming up through the pike for CBC in the next few years.

I actually don't even live in Missouri. I was just wanting to stir up some conversation wiht the MCC teams... I know the match between CBC and Vianney is going to hopefully be a great one. Since, it is for the MCC title. I know both coaches will have their teams ready for battle.

I heard the secret weapon is some rendition of the gator roll to the snake (Johnny Thompson style).....a move a noted Oakie hit in the NCAA finals a few years back.

Yes...very close although last year vianney won by criteria....and last night they did have a secret weapon...

the final score was 31-29 would have been 30 but on an unsportsman like moment cbc lost a point. It was a great match that can down to the final match.

I heard that Banning at 103 just pummelled the kid from Vianny that usually wrestles 112. Is that correct?? If so, would have loved to have seen that match. He is a skilled technician who gets 200% out of his abilities. I talked to his dad last weekend and I understand that his natural weight is about 105 lbs. He rarely if ever cuts or guesses who is going to be at what weight - just goes out and gets 'r done.

Are you sure your not Mr. Banning himself you post sounds just like something that psycho drill sergeant would say about his kid. And by the way the 103 from Vianney is the regular 103.

The kid that wrestled 103 for Vianney last night against Banning was last year's 103. He's been wrestling 112 all year and just recently dropped.

Nice win for the Griffins last night. 171 Suter over Lemear and 130 Muenster over Smith in double overtime - the two key matches of the meet. Back and forth crowd last night was great!
