It depends on the conference/ league.

Everything is ours is grouped untill the final tourney then the wts are the same as USA 14U.

Thanks Papa Smurf, I did see a section for college and kids and even a off the topic but wrestling related forum so I posted about junior high. Out of curiosity what type of "site" is this? I would think that it is a wrestling site for Missouri as the name infers but thats just me.

I have coached middle school wrestling in around KC and in SW MO at both places and currently here in the KC area we had no weight classes. Each kid weighs in and is then given a rating Beginner, Average or Experienced. The kids are then grouped by ability and age. What good is a weight class that matches a 8 year wrestling kid and an akward newbe. I have seen a stud 150 lb 8th grader who competed nationally on the mat vs a chubby 1st year wrestler. It does neither kid any good. For you that have weight classes do you run it like High School with only certain matches counting and others exhibtion or JV?? Just wondering.

commom practice for weights in swmo area is to weigh in at home.... fax line up to home school... coach matches up by weight and ability if avable...

Due to libality Joplin may be weighing in onsight for home matches to verfy weight next year. This practice was done at C.J. and will be experimented with next year.
