Does anybody know how James Walker from Sherwood is doing this year? He was a Ray-Pec varsity 152 last year and moved. He did okay for us last year as a freshman and I didn't know if he was doing any better in class 1.
James is wrestling well. He's aggressive and focused on placing well at state. Was undefeated until this past weekend when he wrestled Schuetz, but he knows he has a couple of things to work on and plans on finishing well at districts & state. Good strong kid.

I remember James.

I was wondering why he wasn't on the Ray-Pec team this year. What weight is he wrestling this year?
I remember last year he was a natural 140 but had to wrestle 152 because of Shaffer and Breit. He would have fit in well this year at RP at 145.
Probably a natural 145, but feels more comfortable at 152. Is working on his strength to handle the bigger 152's he'll see at districts and state. Very quick and focused wrestler.

Has he wreslted any of the ranked 152's? Maybe the Adrian kid? If so, how did he do?

Was undefeated until this past weekend when he wrestled Schuetz.
Do you know what the score was?
James had an abdominal injury right before the start of the season and missed the Knob Tourn & the Adrian dual. He was 10 or 11-0 when he met Shuetz. I think the score was 12-6, but with a couple things changed technique wise it could have been closer. Not to take anything away from Shuetz who is pretty cagey and pretyy tough.

I hope Thelma and Florida are proud! Say, what ever happened to his kid brother mikey?
So Sherwood has ranked move-ins at 152 and 130? Hmmm, anyone else smell a conspiracy? How far is Sherwood from Oak Grove? Matter of fact, where IS Sherwood? :?

Sherwood High School is somewhere between Harrisonville and Clinton on 7 Hwy. Not sure what town it's in. I noticed it right off the hwy.
Ok, so Walker's from RayPec.....where's the Kopriva kid from then? I notice he's ranked #5, and beat Varns from Butler pretty easily.

I believe Sherwood HS is located in Creighton, MO, and draws students from a bunch of small towns around there.

A little bit (15 or so miles) Southeast of Harrisonville. Or, about 45? or 50? miles SE of K.C.

I would probably have to take sheutz winning 152 but there might be some close matches for him

I think Kopriva moved in from somewhere in Kansas. Possibly a state medalist last year? Not sure about that part, but thought I had heard it somewhere.

I just checked KS state results from last year and couldn't find his name anywhere.
Transfered to Sherwood from Spring Hill, KS. Qualified for state @ 112 (fr) with a record of 21-10. Went 0-2 w/ an inj def (bruised spinal column) to the eventual 3rd placer. Started his sophmore season w/ mono came back and wrestled 135 (only opening on the team) while weighing 128 lbs, but qualified for district. Went 1-2 @ districts and missed state. Current record @ Sherwood is 21-0.

I see the sherwood doin well at state after the 2nd place win at his district. But i still dont understand why he was seeded higher the the adrian kid with a 30-0 record?

First criteria is head to head match - they didn't have one.
Second is common opponent - Walker must have had the advantage here because
Third criteria is winning percentage but ONLY if there is a difference of 10% or more. In this case there is not. Walker's percentage was 95% and the Adrian kid was 100% winning percentage.
