Why even stay there? Kyle's a junior wrestling behind a sophomore who he'll never beat out (Morgan). At best, all he'll see is spot duty unless Morgan gets hurt. Why turn a great high school career into 4 years on the bench at a school where you can't compete.

Maybe he likes the school....perhaps he has a lot of friends there, girlfriends, etc...also, he's in his 4th year there so he might be close to graduating.

Why participate in the toughest sport and sacrifice that much time and effort when you can't make it at a certain school? It seems like a waste to bust your @ss for 4 or 5 years and then never reap the benefits of being in the lineup. I assume he went to OSU so that he could wrestle at the DI level, which for the most part he is not doing.

Do you mean to tell me that there are other reasons for going to college than to wrestle? Why would anybody stick around at a large Division 1 university on a wrestling scholarship just to get a college degree? What could he possibly want with that? It would be much better to transer to a small college so he could wrestle for his last year of eligibility on the varsity squad. College degrees are over-rated! He can always wrestle professionally when he's done with college - with his degree.

Some people. Sheesh!

I sincerely doubt that he chose OSU for anything other than wrestling. And I'm fairly certain that he could get that physical eduation degree (his major) at pretty much any college. And who said he would have to transfer to a small college. He could wrestle at most DI schools and probably qualify, just not at OSU.

I believe Jamill Kelly? made a similar decision, I'm sure he was happy to trade the NCAA acclaim for an Olympic medal.

...and just maybe some people like the hardwork and wrestling w/ the best on a daily basis rather than being a BMOC yet, getting beat in the big show.

 anyway, Dscott, why can't you just let him live his life. Why do we have any right to judge his unspoken <to us> motives.

I know, I'm a smart-@ss. You can ignore me if you like. I tend to look at the positive - he is getting his education on an athletic scholarship. Once you spend 3 years at a school, I would guess that it would be difficult (mentally, emotionally) to transfer. Also, he would have to sit out a year too, right? If he has already red-shirted, would he still have 2 years of eligibility left? Would another D-1 school want him if he only has 1 year of eligibility? If he was going to make a move to another school, the best time to do that has already passed. Just my non-smart-@ss thoughts.

If he was released by OSU he would be able to transfer to a school and not loss a year

How do you think the red shirt hosick will be in the next year or two?

I would keep in mind that Ethan has a couple National Championship rings, even the non starters get those and OSU is a very nice school and he gets to compete for them in open tournaments. With Taylor Hosick I talked to him the other day and he is improving everyday and I think he will get to start at 174 or 184 next year. He mentioned how hes looking better in practice and did a lot better against Mason and he took fourth at the Oklahoma Open. I think both guys should stick with it and see what happens and injuries do happen, isn't that why Nathan Morgan started last year in about the middle of the season?

No, Nathan Morgan Started cause Daniel Frishkorn couldn't make 133 anymore. The Frishkorn Beat out 2 year starter Delk.

ah, I just thought it was odd it was during his redshirt year and thought it was because of injury, thanks for the correction.
