Not sure, I know at MO Duals he wrestled 160 for some better competition-it was only for maybe two or three matches. Espey is ranked 3rd in Class 3 at 160 and Lumia is ranked 4th in Class 3 at 160. I was also under the impression that he would go 160 if he lost to Wolfrum at GAC, but Wolfrum was out with staph. I assumed once he orginally dropped to 152, that he would stay there for the season.

How is he ranked 1st at 160 already when he really has not wrestled at that weight all year?
What about the wrestlers who have been at 160 who are not "fish" (ie Tyson Campbell from Fox and Kyle Foley from Oakville)?

He will be wrestling 160 at the Riverview Tournament this weekend. He will get another match with Espey in the finals and also wrestle against kids from Ritenour, Affton, Riverview, and Parkway North. Still unsure whether he will stay at 160 or go back to 152.

Talk about 160! Newbold destroys Dopp 15-5. I heard Dopp was the real deal. Anybody see the match?

Bob,

I know last year, which pretty much means zip now, that Lococo Teched Rico Williams at the Thrasher tournament. I think it was 16-0. And I believe two years ago he stuck Burke at state. Again, it doesn't mean much now, but he has seen most of these kids in the past.

Who is Newbold and who is Dopp? Neither is ranked at 160 for any class.

The rankings show both Loccoco and Locke at 160. I think that Howell will wrestle the lineup they wrestled against FZN for the rest of the season.

Because prior to Lococo moving up to 160, Mike Tracy of FHC was ranked #1, and Lococo beat Tracy 7-5 (should have been by more but Lococo was gassed at the end of the match) in Howell's 2nd dual meet of the season. If you saw that match, you would know why.

Howellfan,

FYI Locke wrestled up at 171 today at Riverview. He weighed in at 152 for the dual with FZN, but did not wrestle. Depending on where Lococo and Fankhouser settle, either he or Kaleb hoffman may be out at districts.

Current lineup

145 Hoffman
152 Fankhouser
160 Lococo
171 Locke

If Lococo goes down to 152 it would be

Hoffman out
145 Fankhouser
152 Lococo
160 Locke
171 Lewis or Elliot (currently at 189)

But, i think Lococo's best chance at a title is at 160, which leaves Fankhouser's decision on whether he wants to stay at 152 or move down to 145. If you look at the 145 rankings, District 3 has ranks 2-5 plus Isringhausen at 7th and Drea Cox. 152 may be his best chance to get to state.

1 . Shane Nay - Oak Park (D4 1st)
2 . Brandon Weist - Ft. Zumwalt West (D3 1st)
3 . Brian Oeschner - Troy Buchanan (D3 2nd)
4 . Brad Diekhaus - Francis Howell Central (D3 3rd)
5 . Jacob Guernsey - Joplin (D3 4th)
6 . James Beardon - Lindbergh (D1 1st)
7 . Trevor Isringhausen - Jefferson City (D3 HM)

I'd also like to see Hoffman cut to 140 if it's not too late and have Plaggenburg move back down to 135. He lost to McCravy there at GAC's, but who else besides he and MCKnelly are there in District 3 that can beat him?

I guess we'll find out in about three weeks where everyone ends up. It will be interesting to see who goes where.

I feel the best lineup for the team would be the current lineup with either Lewis or Elliot at 189, because I think that Locke is a will have a better chance at helping the team more. Not to sure about Hoffman, but I know Fankhouser has had some trouble getting to 145, so he will probably end up at 152. Is it still possible for Plaggenburg to go 135 with only 1 weigh in at 135 this season to my knowledge?

One other comment...Espey from FZN is ranked 3rd in Class 3 and is a stud. Lococo just teched him (20-5) at Riverview Gardens. Any other questions as to why Lococo is ranked #1? Didn't think so... :D
