i know 2 Ray Hall Oak Park is one hell of a wrestler and he took second last year but 8 Jacob Guernsey Joplin beat him last year so either hall shouldnt be #2 or Guernsy should be highier then #8 i dont know tell me what u think?
At 135 Brandon Pringle (HC) should be in there somewhere, 2-0 against Fine and 1-0 against Holzer last year. Also was district champion.

1 Michael Gagliano Ft. Zumwalt West
2 Dylan Joiner Oak Park
3 KC Pescaglia Hickman
4 Joey Frank Northwest
5 Josh Schumacher Jackson
6 Sean Kelly Francis Howell Central
7 Joey Muenster Vianney
8 Zach Flaxbeard Ritenour
9 RJ McCravey Ft. Zumwalt West
10 Kris Kuhn Park Hill South
I didnt know we were ranking JV guys...
Dickerson is out
I doubt gags is at 130 and I am hearing nasty rumors he may not wrestle?
anyone got anymore on this?
also someone posted a while back that mike tracy may chase lococococococococococococococococococococococo anything to that?
i imagine they never wrestled but ill take brazzle over Flavin
Im told Newbold is in the 175 range
also I think kenny stewart should be a lil higher than 8 or if you are going solely on performance at state then put him hm since he wasnt eligible
just my thoughts
btw just kidding at 130 the rankings are appreciated and pre-season rankings are pretty much a guessing game no matter how you look at it
nice job :smt038

WF19, thanks for the input.
Without specific current input, the wrestlers are ranked in a weight class as described in the header. You will note some changes from the input on PM and the forum in general. If a wrestler was ranked prior to state but didn't qualify for whatever reason (ie: Stewart or McCravey), they are included. It is difficult to fit someone into a new bracket with no head to head results, example Brazzle.
Ranking is certainly a guessing game to some extent. The ranker last year, still possibly the primary ranker this year, did an excellent job. This thread was intended to provide input for him and others involved in the collection of data and required subjective considerations. I am hoping we can get more, PMs are checked. If you are a parent or fan that follows a particular class or team, your input is valuable, please send it. The committee is all of us.
Most important, when the season gets rolling, don't forget to post results.

iam really close with the team and i havent really talked about him i just lost alot a respect for him as a teamate last year ...he use to be one of the boys but he made some dumb choices..and really hurt the team last season and this year last year joplin reallly needed a heavier guy to help push the heavier weights and he was just a big drag to a sailing boat i hope and wish the best for jeff and hope he wrestles cause he could easily when state at 215 ...he had caputo on his back for a second as a soph he is good

Jon was 10-10 last year. Depending on who ends up at 152 he may have to win some matches to get in the top 6. Remember that these are not rankings but a list of qualifiers and previously ranked wrestlers for the purpose of input. Dave,
Appreciate the information. Wehmer was not ranked last year, did not qualify and Jonathan hid last years results on us (temporarily). Can you give us any notable wins or information on him.
RC
Wehmer Hazelwood West lost to Pattonville Freebersyser in overtime in districts last year. Pattonville only lost to ashley 1-0 at Desmet last year.
Wehmer also took 2nd in the Hazelwood west tournament last year. He will be a big 103 this year and was probably a freshman last year.
Flinch
11-30-2005, 08:35 AM
Joey Jetton from Hazelwood Central decisioned Wehmer twice last year, once at the HZC vs HZW dual, and the other was at a tournament. He was under 100 all year last year, and should be a big 103 this year.
Joey Jetton Hazelwood Central has Beat Wehmer and should probably also be ranked but I never seen him wrestle. Also why didnt Jetton fill in at 112 last year against Pattonville Freebersyser instead they gave up a forfiet.
Flinch
11-30-2005, 08:52 AM
I think the real reason is because the HZC coach was getting agravated at Pattonville not wrestling Centrals' studs, so the HZC gave them some of their own medicine. Freebersyer weighed in at 103, and ended up going 112 to avoid Jones (they had the odd/even number and HZC had to send out the wrestler first). It was HZC senior night, and Pattonville gave up forfits when they had people to wrestle at 103 (Jones) 119 (Mead) and 145 (Williams).
If Jetton could have given Freebersyser a match at 112 then it was stupid not to wrestle him. How can that be giving Pattonville their own medicine.
Pattonville's 103 weighted in at 103 and wrestled 112 several times because he was alittle better than the 112. The point is if Jetton wrestled Freebersyser then I could compare that with the several matches he had against Weymer.

Where is Ian Gossett? Is he wrestling this year? He wasn't listed on the Liberty results page from their dual last night either.
Wehmer was 1-3 against Freebersyser last year all being close matches with the last one a SD loss at districts. Lost 13-9 to Steyer in their first meeting and then was pinned late in their second match. He met Jetton only once last year in the dual losing 6-5 I believe in OT. As for as top 10 I think that may be a stretch until he knocks off someone ranked. You can rank Jetton and put the pressure on him. :D

Hactel at 125 probably not going 112 also doubt if Zeigler will be there. Three possibilities for 9th and 10th slot at 112. Freebersyser-Pattonville, Wheelis-Parkway West or George-CBC.

Nick Baker is a freshman that wrestled the past 2-3 yrs. at Howell Central youth program. He is a small 103 with a lot of heart and determination. He could be one of those kids that is a career 103-112. Matt Baker is a sophmore (I think) that started wrestling as a freshman but trained with Sammie Henson when he was in town. He is still learning but a real tuff kid.

For ranking accuracy, I wish I could give you more information about Northwest. The only thing I can say is that 119 up to 145 could possibly change in a number of ways.
I don't know if Ingargiola could drop to 119 but I wouldn't be surprised.
I know Chandler could at least drop to 125 and IMO I would love to see him at 119-his ideal weight and I think he would be in for a medal at this weight.
Maxx Waterkotte could probably cut down to at least 125 too. Last year he was able to cut from 130-135 down to 112, and I honostly wouldn't be shocked if he was capable of doing something similar again this year.
Todd Porter looked like a solid 140 but It wouldn't surprise me to see him go lower because I don't think he was struggling at 140 at all.
Dual Meet wise the line-up is pretty solid the way it is now-maybe as solid as it can be-but as for tournament line up I personally would love to see:
103: Jake Waterkotte
112: Vito Krischke
119: Matt Chandler
125: Vito Ingarigiola
130: Maxx Waterkotte
135: Todd Porter
140: Wes Nicholas
145: ?
152: Nick Uzzetta
160: Alan Corzine
171: ?
189: Ron Porter
215: Brad Aten
HVY: Steve Himmelmann
I know this knocks out Herb, and Herb is a quality wrestler, but as far as State Potential it is my outside guess that Chandler would go further at this point in time based upon the matches I saw this weekend.
This is just a fans idea, and I have no idea what goes on in practice since I can't make it to them anymore, and I have no idea of how much the guys struggle with their weight other than rumors. I don't even get to chat with the Coaches as much as I used to so I am more on the outside of what's going on with the team now more than ever. I may know nothing about what I am saying here so... I don't even know why I posted. haha!

We appreciate the input, keep it coming. Without brackets on the tournaments there will be matches unavailable on the results so we need the input. We will not be changing the weight class on wrestlers based on Forum input, results will be required. Hopefully this weeks duals and tournaments will reflect changes for the December rankings. If there are a significant number of class changes we may update the rankings prior to mid January. The current plan is to update them after the Holiday tournaments.

Louden
12-08-2005, 12:56 PM
Darth, I think you underestimate Herb. My option is, I belive Herb would not lose his 119 spot.
If you read my predicions on another page, you will see that I predicted Herb as a State Qualifier at 119. So please don't think I am saying that Herb isn't very good. To even make Northwests lower weight classes you have to be solid because they are deep there. I think they have many other kids who could start varsity on most teams wrestling for freshmen and JV including, Tyler Stahlman, Robert Grindstaff, Matt Gore, etc so Herb being there shows he is a tough cookie.
IMO I think all 3 of Matt Chandler, Vito Ingarigiola, and Herb Krischke can be at 119 if they really wanted it-especially by January with the 2 lbs allowance. I've heard that in practice those three push each other pretty hard and are pretty even on a given day. It is my personal opinion that, Chandler is the best match wrestler of the three. I think that when it comes down to it in a real match, as of this point in time Chandler will shine the brightest. Example? Ingarigiola losing to Banderet 7-3 (was never in the match) and Chandler dominating Banderate 12-5. I don't think that is a dis on the other two, because they are all very talented. Chandler just has a ton of tools. A lot of kids have two or three moves that they are very skilled at, wheras what makes Chandler different is that he has a dozen.
We'll see how it all turns out, and the vet of the three is Ingarigiola. He's been there and done that, even beating a kid at State last year that most thought would medal. Chandler and Herb are still green to varsity and will have to grow a lot to be certain they are going to be able to compete at the top levels-where Ingarigiola proved he can last year.
Based on all of this, this is why I thought Herb would be bumped if they all dropped a weight class. He is a tough kid and is right there with them so I wouldn't be shocked to see him prove me wrong.
Just my opinion.
Actually I was starting to have a change of heart. While I think Chandler will be a big force at 119, 125 might be the better fit because he can probably make it close to if not just as far at 125 and he also might be able to handle the extra weight better than Ingarigiola whom I thought was either getting off to a slow start or simply not at his ideal weight this year. It's too early to tell. The Coaches know best and they will work things out. I'm just a fan. 8)

Thanks for pointing out the duplication at 152, we will ask Jonathan correct it. The good news is that there are several of us contributing to the cause which provides input from all districts. The bad news is that the reconciliation of everyones input gets confusing.
On the subject of QuIcKpIcK05's input on 140 and 145, we need your help QP. I gather that you are a Joplin fan from your posts and don't like the Joplin wrestlers ranking. I apologize in advance if my assumption is incorrect. Last year, the Joplin squad did not and will not see any of the other class 4 ranked wrestlers nor will they this year in the regular season. Last year, They made it to state but wrestled two matches and lost both. I will say, the match with Snyder at 145 was a good showing. Without some results, it is a difficult task. Possibly you can do some research for us through the season and keep us posted on matches they have with ranked wrestlers from other classes. We can then look at common opponents.

Did Bowles and Greco meet at Raytown?
Yes Bowles did beat #10 Stueve & #6 Greco this week, It was an outstanding match between Bowles and Grecco Bowles won in OT, should be a great rematch come Jan. 2 at Liberty. Bowles also took on #7 Cox
this weekend went to OT but a lose, Cox staled 90% of the time and only made a handful of attempts at shots on Bowles Cox would only make counter moves on Bowles, Cox got the final win after Bowles was off the mat and stopped because of no room to maneuver, No excuses Cox won this also will be a great rematch comes Districts this time I hope thier is better officials on the mat to make the calls.
Badboy I agree with you about Mac, Ryan, and Chase; however I disagree with you about Zach Meury (if anything he should be higher), and I think his performance at Lee's Summit proves that out.

First time i saw most of these guys was at lee's summit.
Kyle Bradley is amazing and should stay #1. Houdashedt lost to sommers in the consolation semis of lee's summit. Meury majored sommers 10-2 for fifth. Waterkotte is huge and very tough, won cape. haven't seen the rest. bradley majored meury, but not sure of the score. mac bailey missed weight on friday night, so i didnt get to see him.

Dear Mr. Enuff,
I believe that the administrator of this site has made several appeals to the wrestling community requesting pictures of the ranked wrestlers. If you know some of them, take their picture and send it to Jonathan. Obviously, one team has answered the call for pictures, and most of the others have not. Enough's enough - get off your duff, Mr. Enuff, stop posting fluff in the buff....stop trying to make Jonathan's job too rough and tough (even though Jon likes to puff). 8)

Warren...Bradley beat Muery 21-8 (Muery is tough on top)
Ricky...Kyle lost in OT to Forrest. (Forrest is a great scrambler and has excellent mat presense!)
Kyle learned a valuable lesson about High School wrestling...They don't count as points until the match is over not when you think they are awarded.
As for the rankings I wouldn't underestimate Banning.

The answer to the question is NO. Once again, results, in particular, tournament pool, wrestleback, quarter final and semi final results are very useful. A special thanks to Darth Bader for Cape and Mr. Lundy for LSX this last weekend. We also appreciate the private messages we recieve. Your critisism is welcome, it only makes us dig deeper. There are some errors, we aren't afraid to admit it. As an example of some possible over sights, there are two NW wrestlers that could potentially be moved down in rank due to losses to wrestlers ranked below them. A single loss isn't neccessarily cause for a change BTW, we saw that with Reid Garcia. There is unfortunately a fair amount of subjectivity that is required. I would be very interested in explaining our rational on the individuals you feel were advance because of complaining Darth Bader.

We are reviewing the rankings and may issue the third release yet this week. We will reduce the number of ranked wrestlers to 8 from 10. We were also going to reduce the honorable mention to 4 but we would like some input. What about 8 HM also and attempting to predict the 16 qualifiers? It would look something like this:
112
1 . Vito Krishke Northwest (D1 1st)
2 . Marty Uehlin Oak Park (D4 1st)
3 . Wendall Jones Hazelwood Central (D2 1st)
4 . Matt Derlarber Fox (D1 2nd)
5 . Greg Benenati Ft. Zumwalt West (D3 1st)
6 . Mike Toon Blue Springs (D4 2nd)
7 . Robby Brooks Francis Howell North (D2 2nd)
8 . Brandt Lloyd Joplin (D3 2nd)
Honorable Mention
Sterling Wheelis Parkway West (D1 3rd)
Tim Irving Lindbergh (D1 4th)
Jon Freebersyser Pattonville (D2 3rd)
Jeromy Mentor McCluer North (D2 4th)
Matt Allen Blue Springs South (D3 3rd)
Sean Kennedy Francis Howell Central (D3 4th)
Jake Denson Liberty (D4 3rd)
Shane Noland Fort Osage (D4 4th)

Why Is Wheelis below Bunch and Mintor? He Finished 3rd at Cape and they finished 5th and 6th. And why is Wheelis D1 2nd below Trevor D1 3rd? When did Zeigler go to 112 and who did he beat there? Dave,
All of these boys look pretty close. Wheelis and Bunch 2-1 OT. Freeberseyer 3-1 over Wheelis. I wish we had more detail on Morgan. For now, Mintor and Bunch are 7 and 8 repectively based on their wins over Michael Toon. Ziegler was ranked 4th last year behind Krischke, Jones and Benenati. His wins got him there. You probably followed him last year. We appreciate the input, keep us posted here or on PM. We are updating more frequently in an effort to rank the districts, we will see what happens.
Thanks

How did Howell North get ranked higher than Howell, when Howell placed higher than Howell North at GAC. Is there some tournaments Howell North did better in than at GAC?
oxman
01-12-2006, 03:06 PM
howellfan----The team rankings are simply a projected amount of points that each team may score at State based on the current individual rankings. Which team won in a dual or regular season tournament like GACs has nothing to do with it.
For a ranking which does CONSIDER performance in regular season duals and tournies,
please look at the All-Class Team rankings.
You will see that Francis Howell is ranked above Francis Howell North based on those criteria.
To see how they most likely will place in the State Tournament, look at the Team rankings.
Hope this helps....

who has gant from jackson at 152 beat to deserve such a high ranking?
? 7) Minter and 8) Lloyd.
How did Lloyd get to #8 and has Minter beat anyone besides Toon include any HMs or ranked wrestlers any class that these two have Beat.
I guess Denson will be moving up to 7 or 8 by beating Toon and Uehlin.
I also think Freebersyser should be 7 or 8 by recently beating Bunch, Kennedy, Wheelis and Emamjome Class3 #8. Also went into OT with Lamar Class2 HM who beat Griffith cape Central Class3 #10 who took 2nd at Cape Tornament and beat Mintor 5-4.
With all do respect, Lloyd from Joplin has lost only one match all year and was a state placer last year in class four. This year, though he has not faced many of the top competitors at class four, he has beaten the very best that the lower classes have had to offer which isnt to shabby. He is deserving of at least the 8th ranking and probably higher.
I repeat who exactly (names) has he beat this year. Margarita has beaten class2 #2 Fowler and isn't even HM class 4. The weight class is very tough with many wrestlers with similar levels of talent. What did Steyers lose to lloyd by at state last year? Steyers wasn't ranked all last year but I could have told you he'd be at state.

Guess he couldn't stomach two woopings in 1 day.
Who knows if that is true or not but it does bring up another point supporting a strong schedule. I think it isn't uncommon for a tough kid who is used to winning to lose his head when he finally meets someone of his skill. I don't know if this happened to Lloyd or not but it does happen. With a stronger schedule, and a few more losses, a situation like above is less likely to occur, and less likely to have a huge impact on someone. It happens even to the best. Look at Dan Gable and Larry Owings.
