He's going to try to unify the 185 Pride and UFC Belts.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship, at the post-fight press conference in New Jersey, announced that Pride 185-pound division champion Dan Henderson has finally relented and has agreed to fight UFC champion Anderson Silva.

The bout is to take place sometime in March, which would most likely be at the UFC’s return to Columbus, Ohio on March 1 at Nationwide Arena.

Henderson suffered a disappointing decision loss in his return to the UFC last September, when he lost to current light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson. Despite that loss, he had steadfastly said he wanted to remain in the 205-pound class.

Silva has dominated the 185-pound division since debuting in the UFC with a 49-second TKO of Chris Leben in June of 2006. He has finished all five of his fights in the Octagon, only two of them going outside the first round

Hendo has probably the best chance of beating Anderson Silva at this point. If he does win it, perhaps Franklin will be able to regain the belt by getting it from Henderson... We'll see!

Henderson has the best chance against Silva among UFC fighters. I would also give Filho and Lindland an outside shot against Silva.

Filho would have a little better than an outside shot...only problem is, he and Silva are good friends and train together. If they ever fought, it would be a war. Silva would still win (not dominate) the stand up and if it went to the ground, Filho has the advantage.

I think I actually read somewhere that they have both said that they will never fight eachother b/c they are such good friends. On the other hand Silva has stated that he hates Wanderli Silva and that he would consider moving up in weight to fight him.

BTW the you are right giving the standup advantage to SIlva and the ground to Filho, problem is that if they ever fought I doubt that Filho could take Silva down thus giving Filho an "outside chance" at winning. :D

I hadn't seen that before about Silva saying that he might move up to fight Wanderlei...that would be AWESOME!!

So, Franklin (in their 2nd fight) and Lutter were able to take Silva down, but you don't think Filho could??

Not if his takedown attempts look anything like they did last night. I didn't mean that he couldn't at all, but he would certainly take a beating before the chance to. I don't think the fight will ever happen though.

I agree...although I never thought that the UFC would buy Pride and we would get to see some of the fights that we're getting to see. The UFC is good about making fights happen that the fans want to see. You hear Dana White say all the time that he doesn't give a $@#! if you're friends and real $#$#@%$ fighters will fight anybody, anytime, anywhere. They can both say all they want to that "We won't fight unless the money is right", but the bottom line is that if their boss tells them to, they've gotta do it. I think that if Silva knocks off Hendo and has no more competition at 185...they have to make a move, and the only move is to bring Filho in to fight him, because you know they'll never bring Lindland back.

Filho and Sonnen was a bad fight...watch some of his others.
