Question: On the brackets, they have Bradley vs Vaith and Bridgeford vs Waltko in Round 9. Since there are 4 remaining, why are they not in the round robin yet? Is that a mistake that will be corrected?

Also, before round 8, there were 5 remaining. Bradley and Bridgeford had no losses, and Vaith, Waltko, and Ballweg each had 1. I understand why Waltko had the bye, but why did Bradley and Bridgeford wrestle who were both undefeated and Vaith and Ballweg wrestle (who each had a loss). Could they not have just given everyone a bye, but Vaith/Ballweg and let them settle it?

Maybe the 2 questions tie in together. I thought Bradley/Bridgeford was a wasted match since there would be 4 remaining for the round robin after the Vaith/Ballweg match.

Bridgeford had already wrestled Ballweg and Waltko was scheduled for the BYe so that was the only match really they could have done with the rotation

Yeah I understand that part of it. It just seemed silly to have what amounted to be an exhibition between two guys that had already clinched a trip to the round robin rounds for a match that meant nothing after they had each wrestled 6 or 7 matches. Especially since they will see each other again today.

Regardless of what happens, the Missouri boys have had a pretty good showing. Good luck to all!

They ahd to do another round to determine the 4 All-american's from that side of the bracket. Since there was 5 people left they ahd to go to the next round it didn't matter that Kyle and Brickford was undefeated and ensured of all-American Status. They had to wretle the rounds (however many there was ) until they had the final 4.

Not an exhibition match, that match will be carried over to the round robin side rounds. They will not wrestle each other again.
