Not sure how many answers it will give ya. Elijah will see Dom 3 times in the next month. I'm sure they will all be very good matches.

There was some controversy earlier this season about Crossett and Bradley and who should be #1. I personally thought Crossett should have the #1 spot (though I am a bit biast), so I am anxious to see how Elijah fits in.

Carr over O'Donnell based on common opponent. Carr by Mdec vs Mdec plus a Dec. When you avg. the points from a major and dec, the Major ends up on top.
Anyone know the common opponent(s) and outcomes that set up the 71 lb bracket? (Haynes/Bowman)
Also, would like to gauge opinions on who is coming out of the 45 lb bracket.

Mr. Pollock, enough can't be said about the work you do for this website. Incredible. Thanks for everything.
I second the question about Wiest's match. Also, what happened to Taylor Bolin?
I had the same question, how did Taylor get hurt?

I would say Park Hill's kids don't have the same kind of national exposure as OP kids. You've got the graham's and Hicklin, but other than that PH doesn't really make much noise over the summer like OP does with their umpteen All Americans. Any details on the Carr-Odonnell match?

They had a good finals...you got to remember that the youngmen we lost to are studs as well...great weekend of wrestling...not sure I would say anyone did not wrestle well...great match after great match...we should feel privledged that our state is were it is...so many kids on other teams are very easy to cheer for...watching them become the outstanding wrestlers they are...you just have to sit back and be thankful that we as a state are getting to watch that type of or I should say that level of competition...congrats to all the youngmen from all the teams...you represented the sport well this weekend...
Last final thoughts...since so many time we are upset with officiating and I am sure there was plenty calls that people thought were bad today...I want to say this...I saw atleast 3 times were the official made a call and then consulted to then make a change...I believe each time it was the right call once the change was made...I do not see to many officials these days willing to put there egos aside and change there call...I want to thank them for doing that and hope it spreads...the kids are the most important thing out there not the officials and I believe I saw some of that this weekend...sorry if those calls went against you and you feel differently...I just personally thought the officials should hear something positive than just always the negative...

I'm not an " I told you so" guy, but I've been saying since the beginning of the year that Park Hill at full strength is the 2nd best team in the state.
Looks like it was a great tourney!

Great tournament.....some unbelievable matches. Couple of quick thoughts....
-Mac Bailey is damn good.
-the 11-6 final's score at 119 is the most deceiving "11-6" you'll ever see
-Graham/Nay/Weist - MO wrestling at it's finest
-Joey Wolfrum is going to surprise some people at state
-as will Rosenstengle (RP)
-Haynes/Bowman - hopefully they'll take more risks the next few times they wrestle
-Mitch Barnett has improved a LOT over last year
-Bradley/Madison - umm...........lots of pushing.

In my opinion...........much closer. Mean Joe Green was just that tonite. After that first period (when Warner racked up a sizable lead), Green took it to him. Very entertaining match.

looks like there may be some outstanding match ups at state this year
Bradley vs Bailey
Warner vs Green and Green vs Pascaglia
Bolin vs Nay pt 2-any notes on this match?
130 might be interesting with Odonnel having such a tight match with Wolfrum, Wolfrum has lost to John VanVelkinburgh, Beat Sean kelly with a last minute throw, and Kelly lost to Graham by pin though he was winning when he got stuck...could be interesting
Joiner vs Pepper...what happened to McCravy at Tonka?
Nay vs Weist...should be great AGAIN
Wolfrum vs ? lococococo? or maybe Bearden again?
160 Locococo vs Woods or Tracy...from what it sounds Locococo Tracy pt 2 should have been close but Lococococo pulled out a pin
Haynes vs Bowman pt 2...any notes on this match at tonka?
at 189 should be interesting to see if ANYONE can keep it close with Winn
Vilda vs Rampley and Vilda vs Stewart
Bradley Madison and Crosset should be great...probably wont watch cuz its da heavyweights

No bob I wasn't there sounds like agreat tourn. Not really trying to cause any trouble just thought Bowman and Haynes would be a very close match. Which wasn't the general consensus on this board seems to me Bowman was over looked for some reason by more than just you.I'm also not saying Haynes can't beat Bowman if it's that close anything can happen.
T.D.C. Dad,
Where you there? You stepped in what? KL is going to see this.

Sounds like one of my former wrestlers had a good tournament at tonka. Congratulations Clarence Neely. Believe me guys this kid is just scratching the surface of his talent, I am glad he ended up at a place where he could continue to grow both as a person and a wrestler. By the way watch out for Clarence on the football field in the next couple of years.

i just don't understand how you can really justify not giving outstanding wrestler to Jake Denson from Liberty... he pinned the #2 ranked wrestler twice in the tournament and beat out the number 1 seed in the tournament... if you ask me that sounds like the best day that anyone had

Clarence did look good. Koelling beat him pretty solid in the earlier round and he bounced back nicely in the finals. I have mentioned before, he could make some noise in Columbia. Not saying he will bring home the gold but he sure could bring home a medal.

Denson wrestled well, his cradle put him in the finals with 3rd period back points for a 3-2 win over Toon and it worked well for him in the finals versus Uehlin. While there were many accomplishments on individual basis, I think there was no question that Graham deserved the Outstanding Wrestler Award, and it surely was close to unanimous excluding his own coach. (I don't know if Coaches can vote for their own wrestlers)

I did not know if Coaches could vote for their own wrestlers. I was saying Brian should have got all the other votes. For example, in All-Conference voting in team sports, you cannot vote for your own players. Apparently in tournaments you can vote for your own wrestler, no doubt he deserved it. It was a great tournament.

Graham totally desirved the OW of the tourny. He beat Weist in an incredible match and the finals was definitely worth the price of admission.
The other kid I was impressed with was Rosenstengle from RP. Going 2-1 with Wolfrum and riding the kid the whole second period...WOW. Looks like he still has some work to do on his feet. Time was out against Hall, I know it shouldn't have come down to the offical making the decision but lucky for Hall he had on an OP singlet.
I thought Neely had a great tourny as well. He beat Burke in a match the Kendall looked nothing like the Kendall Burke I have seen in the past and had a great finals match.
Officals....any thoughts? Mayabb can sway any call in his directions regardless of who is wearing the strips.

comments on officiating--------------------- well, I agree that coach Mayhab and coach Smith can sway a call. Just like anything else, they have worked very hard to earn that respect, and that team that Mayhab has and Smith brought up through his youth program. How lucky the boys and parents are from Oak Park to have 2 bad boys in the coaching ranks as these 2 are. ( not saying that these are the only 2, not trying to leave anyone out)I used to coach against Smith continuosly and just hated him. His kids beat mine and mine beat his, but after stepping back and looking from a fan now, my hat is off to he and coach Mayhab great coaches with a very very diciplined team. Keep up that kind of spirit in Missouri and we just might become a state well known for real wrestling powerhouses, not just a couple. ----------- to Winnetonka High and to Mr. Ewing ( is there any classier or tough tournament besides state that they hold. ) That was a miny state introduction and made all the kids and parents proud to be there. Hire whoever updated the brackets for life for all the big tournaments, that was impressive. Thank all of you for allowing us to be a part of this. Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also Coach Erneste, I agree with your vote, Denson did wrestle very tough, but how many people ever beat Brandon Wiest one day and beat and tottally dominate Shane Nay (across the entire United States, let alone in Missouri) Shane is the real deal and so is Brian. Best match of the night with Brian being better tonight.

What was Wrestlemania XVII, otherwise known as the Nay vs. Graham match like? (I'm guessing not so much a chess match as a bar brawl, but how did the scoring go?)

Nay-Wiest-Graham
Alot of high flying, kicking, flipping, and rolling with one guy coming out on top every so often.
Very entertaining too watch but definately more fun when you come out on top more then the other guy.
