There should be some very good potential matchups here. Particularly interested in Senzee/Farwell, Shaffer/Brown, Ely/Hogan and Long/Burke.

BTW - Welch got 3rd @ state last year, not 1st.

Sorry, that was a typo on Welch. The way they bracket the tournament, it is going to be brutal at many weight classes. 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 160, 171, and 215 are all very tough brackets. They are brackets where a wrestler will get 4, if not 5, tough matches. Many good wrestler could lose more than they win on this day.

nice job leighty-
saturday is a fun one.

eric & i have to split up
with this one & kearney JV
on the same day.

i'll likely be at kearney getting text-message
updates. ;-)

seiter and healey were both back down before christmas.

seiter is 125
and healey is 119
(both BHS)

this meet is wild.
both were 1-4 here last year.

healey pinned gerstner
and seiter beat harbord.

i love the looks on faces by about
4th round.

you can tell the battle-hardened ones
just by the look in their eyes.

i wish formats like this were around
back when.

(ok- let me correct that...
perhaps by the time i was matside with eric.)

I had heard that Cj Robinson and Paco Carrasco Excelsior Springs are both dropping weight. :smt102

Grant Leighty

If they did, it would make 152lbs and 145lbs much tougher wt. classes. 160lbs will still be a very tough wt. class.

C2Rankingforfun

It looks to me like IF Robinson and Carrasco do cut down it could be a BIG MISTAKE. I would have to rank them in D4 like this.
145
Fowler PC
Blake LAF
ROBINSON ES
Meisenheimer OG

152
Lyle SA
CARRASCO ES
Jones OD
Herman OG/PerkinsSM/PlowmanPC

without dropping i would have something like

152
Lyle SV
Jones OD
ROBINSON ES
HermanOG/PerkinsSM/PlowmanPC

160
CARRASCO ES
Harris OG
Pace PC
Williams SM

State wise i would put
145
ROBINSON SQ
152 CARRASCO 4th

152
ROBINSON 6th
160
CARRASCO 3rd

Just my 2 cents worth,,,I am not try to downgrade the boys nobody has more respect for them than I do, just discussing the possible decision to drop.

One more thought,,,,with Bradshaw (Marshall)dropping down from 152 to 145 it makes 152 softer while making it even more difficult to medal at 145. I would adjust the rankings at 145 to
Bradshaw MARSHALL
Monteith TIMBERLAND
Fowler PLATTE COUNTY
Landes CARL JUNCTION
Bowen KIRKSVILLE
Stormsdorfer JOHNBURROUGHS

Looks like a VERY TOUGH bracket to crack.

Looks like Jake Hunter Harrisonville gets thrown in that mix somewhere, he wrestled 145 last night against St.Pius.

Cameron Blake, Lafayette is at 152 and has pinned both Plowman and Perkins this year. Just an observation. Not sure if he is dropping or not.

wrestle4life
01-04-2006, 10:42 AM
I believe Cam (Blake) is at 145 just SJL's coach bumps people around to help with duals. Cameron has probably the most evil headlock I have ever seen in a wrestler. Just ask CJ Robinson.

grizzly
01-04-2006, 11:19 AM
i think cj and paco would do just as well if they dropped but just as well if they stayed the same
at 145 they have fowler pc and blake laf
at 152 there is plowman pc, jones od, and williams sav
at 160 there is lyle sav, shippy od, and harris og

Statman124
01-04-2006, 11:33 AM
You are right about coach Jones, but that said, all of Blake's dual weigh-ins are at 152. All tournament weigh-ins are at 145. So I guess he can go whereever he feels comfortable. And yes, that headlock is pure evil. Ask just about everyone he's ever beaten.

C2Rankingforfun

Assuming Blake stays put at 145 and Lyle stays at 160 and Robinson doesnt drop:
160
Lyle SAV.
CARRASCO ES
Harris OG
Pace PC

152
Jones OD
ROBINSON ES
HermanOG/PerkinsSM/PlowmanPC

DROP
145
Fowler PC

Wages is from Lees Summit North HM, beat Fowler 4-3, looks like it was a great match that could have went either way. Wages was ranked top 5 C4 at the time. According to the thread in C4 he lost to Diekhaus in OT, must have been one HECK OF A POOL to have the three of them battle it out. Wages also wrestled McClure (Cameron), lost with a last second takedown. VERY TOUGH KID.

LSHS FAN
01-05-2006, 06:10 AM
That 145 Wages/McClure match was Wages down by 1 with a takedown that clearly looked in bounds, called out of bounds at the end. Interestingly, the loss to Deikhaus had 2 similar calls along with a stalling call that cost the match. Missed the Fowler match, heard it was a good one. I have never seen Bradshaw but would guess the match will come down to 1 point like every other Wages match does if they meet. Not sure why Wages is only HM now, I would guess he will move up before it's over. Go Broncos.

fowler
01-05-2006, 06:45 AM
LS you probably saw that i did point out what i believed was a poor ranking for him. That big of a drop makes no sense to me either. You did miss an outstanding matchup between the two of them. If he meets up with Bradshaw it will be another great match to watch. Best of luck to him and all competitors.

Is Bradshaw moving down to 145 for sure? Seems like he could win 152 - why move down? Didnt he beat Loccoco at the Brute Nationals last year?

That means the Marshall distict would have 4 of the six ranked wrestlers.

That is a rediculous bracket - for any class

1) Bradshaw - marshall
2) Montieth - timberland
3) Bowen - kirksville
4) Stromsdorfer - jon burroughs

HM Rojewiski - westminster

I would say Monteith has the Edge. Bradshaw lost 8-4 to Guernsey of Joplin and Monteith beat Guernsey twice at the Fall Brawl 2-0ot and 4-2. Monteith also beat Stephens of Branson 11-4 and was beating Spiller of Moberley 14-2 when Monteith pinned him all at the Mexico tournament. Edge goes to Monteith
