I wrestled a little submission with Chad Smith, former wrestler of Oakville on New Years Night.

I think he outwieghed me, or was at least taller and surprisingly strong. He hasn't trained submissions before, and he got frustrated and started talking about throwing punches after I went for a collar choke (a choke where you use a shirt to cut of circulation to the brain). I thought for a second he wanted to fight me because he was unable to use his wrestling to better his position.

I think he was a bit tipsy because he was pretty cool up to this point, and I think I kind of provoked him a bit by laughing when he was going all out on me and trying to pass my guard (jiu-jitsu position) so I guess I can't blame him, I was just having fun-I thought we both were... That guy is a phenom athlete though and very tough. He actually surprised me by having a pretty solid defense to any offensive moves I would have put on-which showed me that he had an idea of what he was doing. Tough guy.

Anyway, I think he reads this so just though I'd stir up some convo.

*edited to say: Erase this thread please, I shouldn't have posted it.

For some reason, Napoleon Dynamite is coming to mind.

But anyway....Darth, you crack me up. Reminds me of the time you beat up that drunken redneck. Bully.

Bader, I bumped this thread just for you so there will be no searching for it at 3am tonight.

Now, since you've found it, tell us a funny jiu-jitsu story.

This thread needs to be erased or left alone. I probably shouldn't have posted the story and I normally wouldn't have but it was right after the situation happened when I got home and I was still feeling the effects of a long night of partying, plus I was probably venting. I didn't even remember posting this until I saw it the next day...

Chad is a far better wrestler than I am a Jiu-Jitsu guy, and if he had some practice with JJ too then he would be mading me look very foolish wrestling around, even with submissions. Without it though, that's like me trying to tilt a State Champion wrestler, it's two completely different grappling arts.
Anyway's, erase this thread or let it go. I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way and we (Chad and I) are cool from my point of view, and I hope we are from his too. I never had anything against the guy and hopefully we can hang out again and forget the situation ever happened.
