Northco,
Suppose Spenser Mango wanted to switch schools and wreslte Folkstyle at a D1 school. would he still have 4 years of eligibility? To my knowledge this is the first Freestyle tourney he has competed in since high school (or is it?) and obviously he did pretty well placing 6th. Not to mention the fact that he was wrestling at 138. It's just a shame that so many schools passed on him his senior year b/c he wrestled 112. I hope everyone learned their lesson and gives Ryan a chance after his senior year.

Ryan Sutton went 4-2 to place 5th at the University nationals Greco-Roman Division. He lost 1st round to John Drake of the Titan WC 2-3, 1-1. He then pinned David Crowley of the Grizzly WC 1-1, wbf 0:48. He then defeated Christopher Biggs of the USMC 4-0, 2-1. His next match he pinned Joe Tymoszczuk of the Bobcat WC in 0:31. After losing to Travis Gardner of the Orange Crush WC 7-0, 4-4, 1-4, he closed out with a victory over Matt Mething of the Titan WC 6-0, 3-0. I am very prould of Ryan and his performance. I know he will use this as a springboard toward his goal of NJCAA national champion and future Division 1 All-American.

It is my understanding that once you enter college, your eligibilty clock begins to run (only get 5yrs). D1 has a running clock, so once you enroll and attend classes, you only have five years from that date. In DII, DIII, or NAIA, your clock only rolls when you are enrolled and attending college.
