Breaking News that the UFC is in the very final stages of purchasing Pride Fighting Championships, their biggest MMA rival. If this happens it will be HUGE as Pride's fighter roster is every bit as talented as the UFC roster-especially their Heavyweight Division (which has been weak in the UFC).

Cross your fingers! The final announcement should be broadcast on MMAWeekly.com within the next few days.

Will my contract under Pride be automatically picked up by the UFC?

Yes, they will still honor your pay-per-view that you have already paid for.

It looks like Zuffa (The parent company of the UFC) will be keeping the UFC and Pride seperate... but they will do cross promotional fights. So we will finally get to see the best of Pride fight the best of the UFC. Finally, after years of talk it's going to happen.

That article explains a lot. Lorenzo Fertitta, Dana White, and former Pride President Sakakibara sit down to answer questions. Sakakibara doesn't say much at all but Dana and Lorenzo really explain how things are going to run here on out.
