Here are the teams from last year:
Carthage
Central
Columbia Hickman
Glendale
Hillcrest
Joplin
Kickapoo
Lebanon
Marshall
Monett
Neosho
Ozark
Parkview
Republick
Rolla
Truman
Warrensburg

Watch for Daniel Allnut at 112 and Chase Carper at 130 from Warrensburg.
They are both exciting and experienced wrestlers who should do well. Eventually, they will not be able to come in under the radar.

Has Allnut or Lloyd wrestled any ranked wrestlers and what are their records? Who do you think would win this match?
granby_wrestler
12-21-2005, 07:27 AM
Allnutt has wrestled three ranked wrestlers
Ake-Belton
Pham-Afton
Emamjome-Rockwood Summit
and has pinned all three.
I dont know who would win of Allnutt and Lloyd match, I have never seen Lloyd wrestle. But it would probably be a great match at the upcoming springfield tourney.

Wisdom bumped up to 112 to wrestle Alnutt at the Helias Kickoff and majored him i think 12 to 4.

Sorry that was the score, on the first resluts it was 12 to 4 then it was fixed to 12 to 7.

yes that Wisdom match was a good one. i still believe that Allnutt had him pinned. wisdom is a very good wrestler. you can not make mistakes and expect to win against a wisdom type wrestler.

Ya that was close. You cant go and try to muscle a guy when ur winning by a good 8 or 9 points and plus giving up 10 pounds.

So does anyone know Lloyds record or any ranked wrestlers hes wrestled this year? Any other good match-ups going to happen in other weights?
Watch for:
Schreimann (Warrensburg) vs. White (Rolla) at 145 (5-4 OT)
Carper (Warrensburg) vs. Mayfield (Willard) at 130 (1-0)
Lee (W'burg) vs. Wells (Willard) at 135 (9-8)
Ulesich (Willard) vs. Turner (W'burg) at 215 (12-11)
As you can see, these were all close matches that occured earlier this month.
W'burg won each of them by 1 point except in the case of Turner v Ulesich
were Ulesich was the winner by 1.
Somebody's working out with increased intensity this week

Neosho
189/215: Brock & Novak
- Novak has been at 189 most of the seaon but did see Brock there recently. Will it be Brock/Novak at 189/215 or Novak/Brock ?

Did Lance Jackson not wrestle the other guys I asked about above at this tournament ?
Also, did Kueny (145) and Jackson (275) wrestle ? If so, did they compete against any of the wrestlers I asked about in my post ?

Are you connected to the guy that kept picking up the other guy slamping his face into the mat? After the 3rd time the ref got after him and everyone wanted the other guy to win - AND HE DID!
I'm not connected to anyone, nOOb. By the tone of your reply, it looks like you're one of the idiot parents I'm talking about.

The tournament was a pretty good affair with some good wrestling. At 112 Anderson from Mc County beat Lloyd from Joplin 5-3 (I believe). Parkview PA system HAS TO BE REPLACED!!!!!!!!!! My ears still hurt :}
My biggest complaint was with a couple of the officials. I saw these two at state last yr and thought they must be good---------however they are not and it is shameful they are allowed to be the decision maker in matches. I never got the name of the worst one---tall/thin gray hair gentleman---abosoluty terrible. I thought he was really going to screw up the 140 match between the Fort Osage and Joplin guys. BTW that was one of the best matches there with the exception of the official. I did however get the name of the other official. His initials are M.S. and his officiating is the ____z. I can not believe his arrogance and attitude. He watches only about half of the match he is working and the other half he is looking around and talking to anyone that will listen. This was my second time to see him up close as I saw him at Helias duals a month or so back. Then I thought that maybe he was having a bad day. I now know that everyday he works a match is a bad day. I saw on a match where points were awarded to the wrong wrestler (6 total) not just once in the match and clear points not awarded to the other wrestler in that same match which was at least a minus 10 points for the losing wrestler which would have, if given (or not given) properly, won the match by a minimum of 6 points. This is not an exaggeration. He is absolutely terrible. My question to anyone who reads this is how do you get these type of officials OUT!!!!!!!!! They have no business even in youth matches. I didn't really see anything bad from the other officials. I know that no official is always right and there are judgment calls I may disagree with but these two that I am talking about are shameful

He was a bit on the goofy side. There were two that I was skeptical of. They were either new or just having a bad day. It happens to us all.
I'm familiar with a few of the other officials that worked the tournament, and they are top-notch. If I was a coach, I'd be perfectly comfortable with them in any situation. I don't know them personally, just their reputation on the mat, so that knocks anyone's "well you're biased blah blah blah" argument out. But I'm glad you came out and posted what was on your mind. It makes for entertaining reading while having a hangover on New Year's.

2-Smith (Rolla) Wrestled tough both days
3- Gibbens looked good but Freeman and Smith just to solid.
I saw Hickman kid (aaron Brady)wrestle Freeman and I belive he lost by one. He wrestled good everytime I saw him. I believe he was 4th?

1-Mckinney was in a class by himself at this weight!!!!!!!!not even close!
Not sure on placings below but Matthews (Rolla) wrestled tough and pinned Knight in a close match. Vanwey and Knight were all over the mat in there matches. Knight won on the 2nd day and Vanwey won on the 1st.

1- Stevenson (Joplin) Match with Ortega was really good wrestling!

Stevenson handled Ortega with ease--I believe something like 10-2. The match of the tourney was Stevenson vs Hemme with a 1 pt. dec going to Hemme. Hemme did not wrestle after this match and thus finshed 3rd I believe and because of his scratches Ortega finished 1st with Stevenson 2nd. Hemme and Stevenson most likely was a preview of a class 4 championship final.
Was also impressed with Guernsey from Joplin @145. He easily handed DW Bradshaw his first loss. I believe it was 8-4. Guernsey did the most awesome granby cradle on Bradshaw that I have ever seen. Bradshaw was for sure he had the takedown when the next thing he knew was that he was giving up back points. I wish I had video of that move as it doesn't get any better exacuted than that.

OK, here's some thoughts on the Springfield Holiday tourney:
I agree with MG - there were some really dumb parents there and I got really tired of listening to them yelling stupid stuff at the top of their lungs.
The Pescaglia kids can really ride the legs. Slick getting them in and tough on top.
I was a little disappointed in the depth of most weight classes. It seemed that each weight had 2 or 3 good kids and then the level really dropped off. A lot of really lopsided matches. Or maybe it was just the ones I watched. I wasn't real familiar with many of the wrestlers so maybe I was just watching the wrong matches.
Rallo did a better job with the stall calls than I expected. I had never seen him officiate before and with all the talk on the board, I wasn't sure what to expect. It wasn't as bad as I expected. He had a couple that were odd but in the matches I watched, it wasn't too bad. He did call a couple of stalemates that had me wondering why he would stalemate at that point.
They really do need a new public address system there. I think it was more annoying than the stupid parents.
All in all, a pretty good tourney. I wish Blue Springs, Sand Springs, OK and some of the other tough schools were still a part of it to up the level of competition. Not a knock on any of the kids or teams there, I just think it was tougher the last time I went about 3 or 4 years ago.
